(20)⁂ George West was a teacher at Bedford Modern School which was attended by Fry. Rather charmingly Fry addresses the letters to "Mr West", seemingly in deference to their original teacher-pupil relationship. The letters, which are dated between 28th June 1951 and 28th November 1966 cover a good part of Fry's early career and include discussions of his work and general life. An excellent group, many of the books include West's ownership inscription.

The second mentions working on "a radio play called The Tiger in the Well about 19th century Hungary."
