Bahr became a leader in the field of tropical medicine; he married the daughter of Sir Patrick Manson (the founder of the London School of Tropical Medicine), becoming Philip Manson-Bahr.
The Cato Street Conspiracy An Authentic History of the Cato Street Conspiracy with the trials at large of the conspirators for high treason 2nd edition (1820) some light foxing to some pages but a generally good copy. One of the most sensational crime events of the early 19th c. The Cato Street Conspiracy was an attempt to murder the entire Cabinet including the Prime Minister Lord Liverpool. It failed and those involved were sentenced originally to the medieval punishment of hanging drawing and quartering – the last time such a sentence was ever handed down. In the event this was commuted to hanging and then beheading.
