PLEASE PLEASE ME - UK STEREO 1ST PRESSING LP. A neatly presented 1st UK stereo pressing of the record that will be the forefront of any Beatles collection! This is the 1st stereo pressing (PCS 3042) with Dick James credits for all McCartney/Lennon compositions with matrix/stampers YEX 94-1 1G & 95-1 1R. Side 1 is in solid VG condition with some scuff/surface markings that are largely noted at the start of the side. The record here plays very well indeed without any major disturbance; there are no pops, skips or jumps with only a little light surface noise (a playback grading of VG+ would be appropriate). Side 2 is in VG+ condition with only a couple of light and minor surface markings. There are no scratches to the playing surfaces at all. ZMT tax code on side 2 label. The labels are in clean order with no heavy spindle markings or deterioration to them. With original Emitex inner. The 1st pressing ('right' aligned Angus McBean credit) sleeve is in solid VG condition. There is some light peeling to the bottom left side of the reverse with a small paper tear on the top right side of the reverse which can also be seen on the top left side of the front. Aside from this, a clean example with a little laminate wear.
PLEASE PLEASE ME - UK MONO 2ND 'CROSSOVER' PRESSING LP. A good 'starter' copy of the seldom seen 2nd UK mono pressing of Please Please Me (PMC 1202). With Northern Songs credits for tracks A1 and A2 with Dick James credits for tracks A6, A7, B4 and B6. Known as a 'crossover' pressing between the 1st and 2nd issues, this version is a '2nd' pressing on side 1 with a '1st' pressing side 2. The record is in clean VG condition. There are some surface markings and scuff marks to both sides, though these are never of a heavier nature with no scratches noted. The labels are clean with some light wear around the spindle hole. Matrix/stampers: XEX 421-1N 1L & 422-1N 1 2 G O. Please note that the sleeve is graded in Poor condition with a section of the top flipback missing, other parts of the flipback design torn, a complete top seam split and heavy shelfwear. With some repair work though, this grading could improve as the sleeve is still mostly intact.
YESTERDAY AND TODAY (BUTCHER COVER) - 2ND STATE. A well presented example of the 2nd state pressing of the controversial Yesterday And Today (mono T 2553). This copy has the trunk cover pasted over the original 'butcher' design. The sleeve is in clean VG+ condition. It is obvious that there has been no attempt to peel the sleeve, with the front cover showing only slight signs of wear. Ringo's 'V' neck jumper is clearly seen with the outline of his face visible too. There is a small seam split on the bottom edge and what appears to be a US phone number written on the reverse in pen. RIAA stamp with '3' to the left side of it on the bottom right corner of the reverse. The record is in G+ condition with many surface markings and a few light scratches. With 'Capitol '66; Sounds Great' inner.
YESTERDAY AND TODAY (BUTCHER COVER) - 3RD STATE. A very well peeled 3rd state version of the infamous Yesterday And Today (mono T 2553). This example has has the trunk cover removed showing the original image. The sleeve is strictly graded as VG condition. The peel has obviously been completed with care with only a couple of very light and faint 'lifting' to the paper. There is a small section on the bottom left side that has been 'coloured' in with pen. The reverse shows some light spotting. The record is in G condition with many surface markings and a some light scratches. With 'Capitol '66; Sounds Great' inner.
PLEASE PLEASE ME - UK STEREO 1ST PRESSING LP. A really fine copy of the iconic 1st UK stereo pressing of Please Please Me (PCS 3042). With Dick James credits on the black and gold labels for tracks A1, A2, A6, A7, B4 and B6, matrix/stampers YEX 94-1 1 R & 65-1 1 G and ZMT tax code on side 1. Side 1 is in VG+ condition with a couple of minor surface/hairline markings; at no point are these heavier than this with absolutely no scratches to mention. Side 2 is in similar VG+ condition. Again a clean and glossy surface, there are a few light surface markings, perhaps most noted on track B1. Once more, there are no heavier markings or scratches. With tidy, clean and crisp labels. Complete with Ex condition original Emitex inner. The 1st pressing 'right aligned' Angus McBean credit sleeve is in well presented VG+ condition. There is a small paper tear to the top right hand side of the reverse flipback design with some rather light 'lifting' to the flipback tabs; this is not a major feature. The front cover is in lovely clean condition with barely any of the laminate wear that is usually seen. A top copy.
