A pair of rouge marble and gilt metal mounted table lamps, 20th century, having a vase shaped polished stone body with gilt metal twin handles and raised square pedestal upon scrolling feet. Height excluding shade and fittings 58 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both shades are free form any tears however both would require a clean, one particularly more so on the top edge. One vase base has light surface scratches to the body which may polish out, whilst the other vase base appears to be free from any surface scratches. The metal mounts appear to be in good order on both with no obvious faults. Both lamps are in working condition.

A Bechstein grand piano, the frame numbered 43520, the ebonised case supported on turned legs with metal castors, circa 1887-93. Width 157.5 cm, height 100 cm, length +/- 246 cm. CONDITION REPORT: As you will see from the extra photographs the ebonised section bearing the Bechstein name is very rubbed. The ebonised moulding beneath the keys is also extremely rubbed. On the upper left-hand side of the case there is a strip of veneer approximately 40 cm long which has come away from the main body but it is still intact. The first section of the folding lid has ebonising erased from the left-hand side and the ebonising throughout the whole piano is crazed with lines. A large section of the lid also has issues with the ebonising being rubbed. There is a 16 cm split to the centre of the large lid where the ebonising has rubbed and erased (a family member tells me this is where a plant pot once stood and subsequently leaked much to the annoyance of the piano player). The lid top has numerous marks. There is a small dent to the right-hand side of the shaped lid rim and the rear leg has a split and is rubbed on the high points. Looking directly at the front of the piano to the left of the keyboard the moulding is loose and has two chunks missing. There is a section of the left leg missing at the top. There are numerous scratch marks and light gouges down the left-hand side of the body. One key has a stained crack. Eight keys have very small chips. One key has a 8 mm hairline crack. Mechanically the piano is in good condition and very much playable however the case requires a lot of professional cabinetmakers attention.

There is some brown staining on the interior where a saucer has obviously sat leaving a brown ring. There is very light rubbing to the gilding on the exterior but otherwise the decoration is in good order. The jardiniere rings out nicely when lightly tapped.
A giltwood and gesso lamp standard, partially fabric covered. Height excluding light fitting 153 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lamp standard is structurally sound. Other than being dirty it is in generally good condition. The fabric covering is also a little discoloured but serviceable. We have not had the lamp lit. It requires wiring. The shade is in good order generally with only very minor staining.

There is light rubbing to the gilding around the rim. There are some small scratches to the interior circle of gilding. There is rubbing to the enamels in four places where the moulded body raises on each lobe, it is principally on both figure groups to the left and right of the centre and also the bird and insect panels directly above. There are other smaller minor losses to enamels throughout but nothing too significant. In general the body appears to be free from any major cracks, chips or signs of restoration.

Its partner vase has 30% of the interior rim gilding erased. The vase rings out nicely when lightly tapped. There are two 1 cm firing cracks on the top of the rim and just below the interior rim. The small Spode pot is generally in good order with only light gilt rubbing. There are small nibbles to the green ground. The rim is free from any obvious chips, cracks or restorations.
A Jasperware oil lamp base, late 19th century, in sage green ground with applied cherub and stiff leaf decoration, converted to electricity but retaining its clear glass reservoir, unmarked. Height excluding light fittings 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Looking at the top of the oil lamp there is a tip of a sprigged leaf which is discoloured and is brown not white. The top is dirty and would require a good clean. The glass reservoir is intact. There are some water stains on the base. There is slight discolouration to the green body specifically around the base knop and to the underside of the metal mount but the vase appears to be intact with no chips, cracks or restorations visible. There are surface marks throughout which may be a culmination of dirt over the years.
A Beswick fireside fox, model number 2348, in red/brown and white gloss finish. Height 31.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition throughout. If one were to pick fault there is a light white spot on its rear right toe and also a light spot on the tip of its left ear, however, these are glazed over and are as it left the factory.

A sauce tureen cover has a broken knop which has been glued. One sauce tureen is incredibly stained on the interior which is seeping out to the exterior. The other sauce tureen has very fine brown stained lines. On one sauce tureen stand the colours are faded and are blue as opposed to black. The same can be said for the sauce tureen covers. The vegetable tureen and cover appear to be in good order with no obvious faults. The soup tureen cover is in good order with no obvious faults although the gilding is rubbed to the knop. The soup tureen is in good order with no obvious faults however the interior is slightly stained and the glazing is crazed. The soup tureen stand has slight staining, the glazing is crazed but there are no signs of any obvious chips or cracks. There are three dinner plates, one of which has a 6 cm diameter star crack to the underside. There are three dessert plates one of which is slightly stained and the glaze is crazed. A further dessert plate has a patch of stained crazing to the underside which has seeped through to the top side. A Baccarat style paperweight, with three canes, with goat, stag and dog, framed by floral canes. Diameter 7.9 cm, height 5.1 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are numerous small surface scratches which become more notable when looking through a jeweller's loupe. To the right of the goat there is a small pinhead size internal flaw which if this had been on the surface of the paperweight one would describe as a bruise. There are one or two very light chips around the side of the surface but in our opinion these are not detrimental and it remains an attractive paperweight.

William Darling McKay R.S.A (1844-1924), "Feeding the Cattle Early ***", initialled W.D.M oil on canvas, artist label verso inscribed in ink, 41 cm x 61 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The painting is in extremely good original condition. It has not been relined. We can see no evidence of any significant damage, repairs or restoration. There may be a small scratch immediately to the right of the W on the initialled signature. We have examined the picture under a UV light and again this does not reveal any restoration. The painting may have been cleaned in fairly recent times and is not in an original frame.
Louis Timmermans (Belgian 1846-1910), "Treport, Normandy", and "Near Trouville, Normandy", a pair, each signed, oils on canvas, each with a gilt and velvet slip and matching ornate foliate scroll frame, 20.5 cm x 44 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The paintings appear to be in extremely good condition. They have come in from a local private source and are well framed and in our opinion ready to hang and be enjoyed. The rear of the frames are enclosed with brown paper which looks to have been in situ for around 30 years in our opinion. We cannot therefore see the back of the canvas. We have looked at the paintings under a UV light and can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. The paintwork itself is extremely good with next to no crazing and no paint loss at all. Both frames are in extremely good order and as stated previously, the pictures could be hung and enjoyed in their present state without the need for any work.
Two pairs of silk curtains, beige with embossed foliate pattern, drop +/- 320 cm, each curtain width +/- 190 cm, with one pelmet width +/- 224 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Whilst the curtains are not perished they all have varying degrees of fading and evidence of water discolouration particularly to the linings. The larger of the two pelmet drapes is faded from bottom to top edge. The second drape is universally faded. Both linings are a little yellowed. The linings on all of the curtains are discoloured and show signs of watermarks. The patterned sides are all faded. The fading is not universal as it corresponds to how the curtains were probably hung. The colour differences are not dramatic but they drift in and out of a light gold colour to a paler beige. The curtains do not smell musty. We do not know if they are natural silk or not.
