"Recom" straight-line and oval "K.K. Telegraphen-Station/Dürnkrut" in blue at right. T.L.S., C Kingsford Smith, one page, 4to, Sydney, 27th November 1930, to Mr. F. J. Field of The Aero Field. Kingsford Smith writes, in full, 'Thank you for your note and enclosure, but I return same herewith, for I make no charge for my signature. Also wish to thank you for your congratulations'. Some extremely light, very minor age wear, VG Francis J. Field (1895-1992) Philatelist and Stamp Dealer who specialised in aero-philately.
SOUTH AFRICA RUGBY UNION: A slim 4to sheet of official printed stationery from the South Africa Rugby Union Tour of the United Kingdom and France, 1960, individually signed by over 30 members of the squad including Ron Hill, Fanie Kuhn, Mike Antelme, John Gainsford, Lionel Wilson, Piet Uys, Francois Roux, Jannie Engelbrecht, Jannis Botha, Doug Hopwood, Hennie can Zyl, Johannes Myburgh, Frederick du Preez, Adriaan Baard, Dave Stewart, Abie Malan, Martin Pelser, Dick Lockyear, Charlie Nimb etc., all have signed with their names alone (one in pencil) and an ink inscription appears at the head of the page. Together with two related pieces of ephemera including an unsigned photograph of the team, neatly corner mounted to a page removed from a photograph album, and also including a printed 8vo programme for Barbarians vs. New Zealand at Cardiff Arms Park, 15th February 1964, individually signed to an inside page by twenty members of the New Zealand squad including Donald Clarke, Ralph Caulton, Paul Little, Malcolm Dick, Kevin Briscoe, Christopher Laidlaw, David Graham, Colin Meads, Brian Lochore, Kelvin Tremain, Waka Nathan etc. Some light age wear, G to VG, 4

NIXON RICHARD: (1913-1994) American President 1969-74. Vintage signed and inscribed colour 8 x 10 photograph of Nixon in a head and shoulders pose. The official White House photograph bears a credit stamp and date, 28th September 1969, to the verso. Signed, as President, in dark fountain pen ink to the lower photographer's mount and with a calligraphic inscription in another hand. AUSTIN HERBERT: (1866-1941) English Automobile Designer, founder of the Austin Motor Company. T.L.S., H Austin, one page, 4to, Longbridge Works, Northfield, Birmingham, 15th August 1928, to S. J. Egerton Banks. Austin thanks his correspondent for their letter and adds that he 'shall be pleased to have a chat with you at some time in the early future', concluding 'No doubt we shall meet when I come to London'. Some light staining and age wear and several paperclip rust stains to the upper and lower edges, not affecting the text or signature. Together with William Morris (1877-1963) 1st Viscount Nuffield. British Motor Manufacturer, founder of Morris Motors Ltd. Nuffield thanks his correspondent for her letter and continues 'What I propose to do in the first place, is to send my own Mechanic to Blenheim to have a look at the car so that subsequently, if found desirable, he can bring it here and attend to it', also explaining that there may be a slight delay, and concluding 'I think the best procedure then will be for me to write to you and give you an idea of the approximate cost of overhaul'.
