A GOLD, SOUTH SEA CULTURED PEARL, DIAMOND AND ORANGE SAPPHIRE RINGMounted with the large South Sea cultured pearl to the centre, the sides mounted with circular cut diamonds and with orange sapphires, detailed 750, ring size N and a half, gross weight 23.3 gms.The South Sea cultured pearl is in good condition, diameter 15.7mm, the ring is overall in good condition, pretty much as new, it is detailed SCHOEFFEL, slight variation of colour of the orange sapphires, the diamonds slightly draw colour to a light champagne colour, probably intended to blend in with the orange sapphires. Some of the diamonds have a few internal inclusions, that are surface reaching.

The bodies have been drilled to accommodate electrical wiring. Rubbing to the gilding in areas, with dirt and dust, together with some tarnishing as to be expected with age and use. The upper branch element of one is leaning back and requires realignment or tightening at the base. Several small cracks to the branches of this candelabrum and two leaves missing. Residue wax in areas. Some small chips and nicks to the marble bases in areas.

A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED VERNIS MARTIN STRIKING MANTEL CLOCKMid-18th CenturyThe case decorated with floral sprays on a yellow ground, with pierced brass grille sides, standing on a plinth base, the enamel dial inscribed ‘Biesta a Paris’, Roman hours and Arabic minutes, the movement with countwheel strike on bell, silk suspension, pendulum and key, 59cm high Condition report: Overall losses to the decorative paintwork of the case, with areas lacking to the front below the dial. The base also with losses, shrinkage, wear and worm. Tarnishing to the mounts and rubbing to the gilding. Mounts slightly loose and with gaps noticeable to the base, probably where the base as slightly shrunk. Green lacquered backing to the grille sides is worn and damaged with numerous holes. The dial with light hairline crack running from the number 60. Minor losses to the winding holes. The movement will need a thorough overall by a qualified clock restorer. Key, pendulum and smaller key attached.

Some mis-shaped areas to the wirework as to be expected. General wear commensurate with use and age. Scuttle and tools in good order, scuffs and order commensurate with use and age. Screen typically should’ve had a mesh, panelling could be later associated. Slightly wobbly in fitting.

A MATCHED SET OF SIX 18TH CENTURY WALNUT FRAMED VASE BACK DINING CHAIRSOn pad feet 55cm wide; 100cm high (6)Condition report: 43cm high from the floor to the top of the seat rail (not including the rise of upholstered drop-in seat). These chairs are very similar but details vary, including two with a more obvious raised pad foot, another with a less raised foot and three others just with a general pad. Variations between some of the turned features on the back stretchers and scrolled detail on the chair backs. The chairs are all pretty structurally sound considering age and use. There is some light shrinkage between some joints. The chairs were probably made provincially and at some point they have been through a workshop, strengthened, tidied, drop-in seats redone and railed. One chair with more obvious re-pegging to the back leg and probably a later rail to the back below the shoe. Overall chips, scuffs, dents and abrasions commensurate with use and age. Some variation in colour between areas, the chairs having probably been varnished and polished at some point. minor shrinkage in areas. Please see additional images on www.bellmans.co.uk.

One foot with a repaired break. Scroll detail to all three feet slightly worn and chipped. Rubbing to the gilt decoration. A few chips and losses to the mother of pearl inlay. Various small nicks and dents to the central bouquet inlay.Light crackelure to the surface of the papier-mâché top, as to be expected with age and use.

Minor scuffs and wear commensurate with use and age, together with minor light discolouration to the lacquer of the top in areas. A few chips and minor dents to the edges and extremities in areas, such as the scroll end left side and front right edge with minor chips, and to the feet. A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY CONSOLE TABLEWith single drawer on scroll supports,131cm wide; 48.5cm deep; 82.cm highCondition report: 48.5cm deepGood overall condition. Light marks, scuffs and dents, scratches in areas commensurate with age and use. Including the top with a slightly deeper old dent approx 6cm along, at the right hand end, and scuffs to the scroll ends of the front feet. Also, a few small veneer chips in areas, mostly to the edge in places. Some discolouration to the varnish on the outside of the right front leg. Old worm holes to the pine horizontal back rail, although relatively minor. Horizontal shrinkage cracks to the drawer lining of the frieze drawer.
A REGENCY GILT FRAMED RECTANGULAR MIRROR (2)With split column decoration, 53cm wide; 72cm high, together with a similar smaller, 42cm wide; 61cm highCondition report:The plate is not misaligned, but quite oxidised in the left corner area. The reeded edge is also chipped and worn in areas. The plate could be a replacement ‘aged’ plate. The backboard has been resecured with later pins and possibly replaced with the backboards back to front; the inside bevelled edge and cleaner/ less oxidised timber visible, in comparison to the surrounding timber sections. Gilding with light scuffs and cracks in areas. Some minor shrinkage cracks between sections. Dirt and dust. See additional photos. The smaller mirror with light chips, scuffs and general wear commensurate with use and age. The mirror plate covered with paper backing which has been torn off. The plate with numerous speckles of oxidisation. Ball knop decoration loose, but present.

A SILVER MOUNTED RECTANGULAR PHOTOGRAPH FRAME AND TWO FURTHER ITEMS (3)The photograph frame with scroll pierced decoration, the glass lacking, Birmingham 1905, size of frame 21cm by 16cm, a silver vesta case, Birmingham 1892, fitted to a plated brooch designed as a bow and a blue enamelled rectangular cigarette caseCondition Report: The frame - The mount looks to be in generally good condition with one or two tiny perforation. It is however very dirty and no pile to the velvet survives to the front. The Vesta case hinge is a little loose an does not close tightly. There are a few shallow dents to the sides. The hallmark is clear, the bow brooch is associated. There is a significant chip on the hinge side edge, also under strong light, several hair cracks are apparent. The enamel otherwise has a few surface marks. There is some distortion to the inner framework. The cartouche to the front of the vesat has had no previous engraving. The cigarette case is marked 'GOLD CASED'. The back of the exterior of the case is rubbing down to brass on the high points. The original finish lookd to have been silver plated, the reference to 'GOLD CASED' is something of a mystery. Size of case 8cm x 5.5cm.
