A Canton enamel pen box and cover, circa 1880, the lid decorated with figures playing Go, the interior with two compartments, each side with vignettes of birds against ground of compact bats. Width 19 cm, height 6.5 cm, depth 9.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The surface of the lid is in good order with only very slight rubbing to the top right hand corner. However the top left hand side has a 3 cm x 8 mm shallow chip and there is a smaller 1 cm x 8 mm shallow chip to the interior rim of the lid. There is a tiny glaze chip to the seated figure in the middle on her dress at the fold of her knee and the second figure from the left has a small glazed chip to her blue apron. The orange border around the rim is slightly erased. The box itself is in good order with only very light rubbing to the corner edges although nothing that would distract.

A Dennison gold plated half Hunter pocket watch, with enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial and with blued steel hands. CONDITION REPORT: On the outer dial there are small scratches by the number 8, also numbers 12, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 11 have small sections of enamel missing as does the outer ring. The interior dial is in good order with no obvious faults. The movement works when wound. The gold plating to the button wind and suspension loop has been erased through use. The hinge to the outer casing requires attention (the retaining pin does not go through to the third aperture holding it secure). Other than some light surface scratches to the body and those faults previously mentioned there are no further obvious faults.
A handpainted floral study dessert service, mid 19th century, comprising 12 plates and 5 shaped dishes, each with a pierced and floral decorated border heightened with gilding against a light buff ground, Pattern No. 2/5543. Plate diameter 23 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are two low oval shaped tazzas one of which has a large section restored whilst the other has a small chip to the rim from which issues a 2 cm fine hairline crack. There are three shell shaped low tazzas one of which has a 1 cm fine hairline crack at the handle whilst the other two are in good condition. There are 12 plates, 7 of which are in good order whilst the other 5 have issues, 1 of which has a small chip to the underside rim and another has a 6 cm and 2 cm hairline crack both issuing from the rim. Another plate has a small crack from the rim to a pierced hole, another one has a 10 cm hairline crack and a 6 cm hairline crack and another has extensive cracks with numerous rivet repairs.
A Chinese blue and white meat dish, 19th century, with pagoda landscape, diameter 36 cm, and six late 18th century Chinese blue and white export octagonal plates all with pagoda and pleasure boat decoration (2 soft paste), diameter 23.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The meat plate has dark patches of kiln dirt beneath the glaze. There is some very light fritting around the rim. However there are no post manufacture flaws visible. All six plates that are part of this lot have major post manufacturer flaws to include rivet repairs, chips and severe crazing.
A Provincial Scottish silver mounted cowrie shell snuffbox, early 19th century, the hinged lid engraved "JN to WK", for Auld Lang Syne, the interior struck with initials "IR". Width 8.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The interior of the lid is blackened and pitted as is 70% of the interior mount rim. There is a fine 1 cm long hairline crack at the rear of the shell. On the opposing side there is a small chip and a small crack to the tip of the shell. There is a very light crease to the lid near the hinge but this is only ever so slight. Apart from those faults mentioned there appear to be no further obvious faults.
A pair of dwarf silver candlesticks, Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. (James Kebberling, Bembridge), Sheffield 1883, with removable beaded sconces on a fluted column and square pillar fluted base centred by a boss. Height 13 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Each candlestick has very minor surface knocks along the base edge. Marks are slightly rubbed over but still legible. The top and bottom of each fluted section is tarnished. There are some light knock marks to each candlestick on the fluted stem but nothing too significant.
A Victorian silver tea caddy, with half fluted body and lion mask handles. Length 11.2 cm, 243 grams, Sheffield 1897. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is a light 1.5 cm crease running from the centre of the shoulder (same side as the hallmarks). Marks are clear, lion masks are crisp. There is a small dent to the right hand rim of the lid but otherwise all appears to be in good order. The silver is a good thick gauge.
A silver tea strainer, with stand, the strainer Birmingham 1932, stand 1931, combined weight 103 grams. CONDITION REPORT: Both pieces are marked for Adie Brothers. Marks are legible although slightly polished, the strainer more so than the stand. Apart from a few light surface scratches both items are in good condition with no obvious faults.
French gold coloured metal identity bracelet, belonging to Marcel Suc, Agent Liaison HQ 1st Corps, having a hexagonal St Christopher and the Paris address of the owner on the reverse, together with accompanying photocopy of original paperwork stating that Suc was killed in action in September 1914 (the bracelet was found by an English soldier serving in the Cornwall Light Infantry) Condition:
