A George III silver caster, by Robert Hennell, London 1791, of vase shape on a pedestal circular foot with a waisted domed cover and reeded borders, crested, 11.5cm high, and a George II silver caster, by Samuel Laundy, London 1729, the cover unmarked and probably later, of baluster shape with a moulded girdle on a pedestal circular foot, crested and initialled, 12cm high 6oz (4)
A rare Kerr & Bins, Worcester, Medici Vase, 1862, the heart shaped body enamelled and gilt with Renaissance male and female portraits, the reverse with the initials ‘BC and FM’ and coats of arms including the golden balls of the Medici between twin female silvered bust handles, red printed shield mark, date and pseudo Registration of Design Mark, 21.5cm The latter mark includes the initials of James and Thomas Callowhill, senior painters at Worcester and it is possible that this vase was made for the 1862 London Exhibition.
George II silver blind caster of vase form, engraved detachable lid. Hallmarked William Shaw I London 1730. Height measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 3.94 ozt (122 grams). Condition: The caster is in good condition displaying some wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches and marks. The seam has become visible to the main body, with a slight crack. The hallmarks are distorted to the underside, as visible in the photograph, date letter only visible, standard mark and makers mark visible to the lip of the lid. The lid is a little loose in position. Also a small initial engraving to the underside.
George III pedestal silver vase with cranberry glass liner, the body with vertical piercing amongst classical swags and reeded banding, the circular foot raised above a square base. Hallmarked John Emes London 1802. Height measuring 6 3/4 inches (17 cm), gross silver weight 11.63 ozt (361 grams). Condition: The vase displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. Small splits and wear visible to the middle reeded band. Repairs visible to the foot on the opening of the vertical piercing. Small very minor chips visible to the rim of the glass liner, noticeable under close inspection. The hallmarks visible to the underside are clear and legible.
Late Victorian silver single rose vase, with petal shaped flared rim, knopped stem and spreading circular base (filled), (a.f). Hallmarked Birmingham 1899. Height measures 7 1/4 inches (18.5cm). Condition: The vase is not in good condition. The main stem is bent over to one side and at the bend there is a crease and tear in the metal. The petal rim also has small dents. There are various other surface marks and scratches and minor dents. The hallmark is slightly rubbed but still legible. The makers mark is rubbed and illegible.
Edwardian silver bud vase of facetted form with flared scroll pierced rim, raised above a circular conforming foot. Hallmarked Sibray, Hall & Co (Charles Clement Pilling) London 1907. Registered number 354771. Height measuring 6 3/8 inches (16 cm), weight 5 ozt (157 grams). Condition: The bud vase displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
A cut glass vase of tapered form with silver mounted rim, hallmarks illegible. Height measuring 7 1/2 inches (19 cm). Condition: The glass vase shows general signs of wear, such as surface marks and scratches. These scratches are more evident on the underside. There are also minor chips along some of the edges in the cut decoration. The silver rim also has surface marks and scratches and various dents and nicks all the way round. The hallmarks are very worn so that is is not possible to read them.
A modern silver bud vase of narrow tapered form, Celtic style banded decoration and raised above a circular foot. Hallmarked Birmingham 1973, makers mark indistinct. Height measuring 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), weight 2.7 ozt (85 grams). Condition: The bud vase displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and noticeable tarnishing. Small dint to the bottom rim on the base and the whole wobbles slightly. The hallmarks are rubbed but easily legible, the makers mark is indistinct.
A modern silver pin tray of rectangular form and raised stepped edge with fluted corners, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Birmingham 1953, length measuring 10 cm, width 7.5 cm. Together with a modern silver bud vase hallmarked Birmingham 1974, height measuring 4 inches (10 cm). (2). Condition: Both items display general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The pin tray has previously been gilded and this has now worn. A few small dints are visible to the bud vase. The bud vase has a weighted base, The hallmarks to both are clear and legible.
