A SET OF FOUR GEORGE III MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIRSPOSSIBLY IRISH, CIRCA 1780Each with a pierced vase shaped splat back above blue upholstered drop in seat and blind fretwork moulded frieze and legs Each 96.5cm highCondition Report: Each with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useThe chairs numbered I, VI, VIII, VIIII to a block to the rails, indicating these were part of a much larger set previouslyThe 'VI' chair has signs of repairs including filler and some insetting of timber to strengthen, also some signs of woodworm and old splitting, the remaining three chairs in overall better conditionSome surface marks and wear to the upholstery, also some staining, this may well require replacement by the purchaserOverall these all appear solid and stable, each with later blocks to the interiors, these may well have been professionally restored previously (probably when work to VI chair was carried out), the spandrels also appear to have been re-attached throughoutThe surfaces all with a dark, polished colourPlease refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer

Multiple small nibbles to edge of plate, but no other major damage and no restoration.
A harlequin set of five 19th century elm and ash Windsor chairs with hoop, stick backs with wheel vase splats.There are some condition issues. One chair has had woodworm, which has affected the spindles and the backrests integrity. There is some sporadic worm across the set, but this no longer seems active. There is some historic damage (scrapes, chips and bumps) to the chair legs, which is as expected from use.
