A pair of large late 18th/early 19th century Japanese baluster vases, each with blue and white floral decoration and part applied red and gilt heightened lacquer, the flared rims above ovoid bodies, height 105.5cm (one af). CONDITION REPORT: One vase has stapled repair from foot rim leading 47cm halfway up the main body. Both have flaking lacquer work around base section, wear to gilding throughout lacquer work, good lacquer work underneath upper rim with strong colours and detail, flaws in glazes and general wear commensurate with age.
