Tara als Nothelferin in allen Lebenslagen SINO-TIBETISCH, entsprechend dem Situ-Kayiü-Stil, 18./19.Jh. 63,5 x 46 cm R. Obwohl Tara Millionen von Manifestationen hat, erscheint sie meist in grüner Form, wie in dem blassem Grün des hier vorgestellten Thangka. In den Preishymnen an Tara wird sie als Retterin -"Befreierin" - angerufen, die mit unerschöpflichem Mut jegliche Angst vertreibt, die schlimmsten Dämonen besiegt, und alles was man wünscht und erfleht, gewährt. Sie entfernt Vergiftung und ansteckende Krankheiten, und schützt die Menschheit vor den acht großen und sechzehn kleineren Schrecken, z. B.: Angst vor Feinden, Angst vor Löwen, Elefanten und Giftschlangen, Angst vor Feuer; vor Räubern, Angst vor Gefangenschaft, vor Überschwemmung, Angst vor Menschenfressern, Angst vor Lepra, Angst vor Bösem das von Indras Boten geschickt wurde, Angst vor königlicher Strafe, vor Meteroriten und Unglück jeglicher Art. Tara, die am unteren Bildrand, in Gestalt der Parna Shabari, die mit einem grünen Röckchen aus grünen Blättern bekleidet ist, befreit im Moment einen Verängstigten aus seiner Not. Diese Malerei ist ein Teilstück einer Serie, denn die Tara ist seitlich von einem zentralen Bild abgebildet, und war ihrer Ausrichtung zufolge, links von dem Hauptbild positioniert. Hier ist Tara im Zentrum der Malerei in seitlicher Sitzweise dargestellt, ihren rechten Fuß hat sie auf ihrem Gewandsaum ausgestellt um jeden Augenblick zu Hilfe eilen zu können. Dieses Thangka, zeigt einige Szenen Tara's Hilfeleistungen, beispielsweise Not vor Gefahren vor Löwen, Elefanten und Dieben. Andere Gefahren sind auf den verbliebenen Bildern dargestellt. Die rechte Hand hält die Tara hier in argumentierender Geste, und mit der linken Hand den Stängel einer Päonienblüte, der aus einer goldenen Vase emporragt. Zwei Begleiterinnen stehen der Nothelferin zur Seite. Tempera und Gold auf Baumwollgewebe, unter Glas gerahmt. Exzellente Deckelvase aus Jade mit Shou-Charaktern CHINA, Qianlong-Periode H. 20,2 cm Provenienz: Aus einer bedeutenden süddeutschen Privatsammlung, zwischen 1950 und 1987 gesammelt - Wenige winzige Bestoßungen, schön erhalten AN EXECPTIONAL VERY PALE GREEN JADE VASE AND COVER, China, Qianlong period, of rectangular section rising from a splayed foot to high shoulders and a waisted neck, flanked by a pair of mythical beast handles, the body carved in relief with differing stylized shou characters in seal script, the stone of a very pale light green tone with minor russet veins - Provenance: Important South German private collection, assembled between 1950 and 1987 - The present vase is particularly noteworthy for its fine quality of jade stone. The process of its carving on the exterior and the hollowing of the deep interior would have entailed a significant amount of wastage of the prized stone, making this vase an exceptionally prized object. As such, it would have probably adorned the interior of one of the imperial palaces or the home of a high-ranking official - Very few very tiny chips at the cover edges
