Archibald Knox (1864-1933), four Liberty & Co Tudric spill vase with green glass liner, impressed mark to underside English Pewter made by Liberty & Co 0957. 22 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is a clear area of brown discolouration to the top of one of the outswept arms. This could be an area of restoration. The structure overall is sound with no losses. There is some misshaping to the outswept arms. Overall it is with signs of use, small dints to the surface and two very noticeable dents to the stem just above where it meets the round base. The glass liner is intact with no visible losses, chips or damage.
Four Minton Secessionist vases, each with printed marks to the base. Tallest 27 cm high (4). CONDITION REPORT: The spill vase has damage to the rim of the base, one chip is +/- 1 cm long clear and visible. There is much ingrained dirt to the slip decoration. Otherwise the structure is sound. Also visible surface scratches to the glaze. The other three vases are structurally sound. No visible cracks or breaks. There are the occasional small chips to their bases. The smaller of the vases has one that is noticeable to the side of the base. All have crazing in places and ingrained dirt through use.
Minton Secessionist vases, a pair of with red ground and piped decoration, both with Minton marks to the base No. 1, each +/- 25 cm high (2) (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The first vase has cracks running from the rim down into the centre of the vase visible for +/- 4 cm both on the interior and exterior. Also losses in places to the slip decoration and areas of glaze loss around the body of the vase nearer the base. The second vase is in better condition, still with wear in places to the glaze particularly on the raised areas and again equal cracks and chips to the rim which would have been repaired and are visible again for +/- 3-4 cm both inside and outside the vase.
A Minton Secessionist twin handled vase, with Minton mark to the base No. 11, 29 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The left-hand outswept handle has three clean breaks which go through both sides and are clearly visible. Some scuff marks and very small areas of glaze loss to the slip decoration. This is particularly apparent around the main body of the vase. Also other signs of wear to the body and base. There is an area of damaged glaze +/- 0.5 cm in width to the very rim of the base visible from the side.
Minton Secessionist twin handled vase, with Minton mark to the base No. 34, the handles of whiplash form upon a flared base with tube lined decoration and turquoise ground colour. 37 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: There is a crack to the very rim of the base. This sits alongside a small chip +/- 4 mm wide and visible from the side. Beneath and under the rim of the base is this crack with loss of glaze, it is +/- 3 cm in length. There is also to the very top of the right-hand outswept handle a dark spot where the glaze is missing. As you look down the vase the glaze is crazed in many places but stable and flat. There are more signs of use, scuff marks and scratches as you reach the last quarter of the outswept body of this vase. The structure overall appears to have no cracks or other issues.
Minton Secessionist vase, with Minton mark to the base No. 1, red ground colour and tube lined decoration. 27 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: This vase has visible and significant repairs to the base. The first runs 3 cm long and is brown in discolouration. The second and third are +/- 1 cm and 0.5 cm long. These are clear and visible on the base. Throughout the rest of the vase we can see no cracks or hairline cracks. There is wear to the slip decoration in many places, ingrained dirt and signs of use.

CONDITION REPORT: There is a crack to the very rim of the base. This sits alongside a small chip +/- 4 mm wide and visible from the side. CONDITION REPORT: We can see no condition issues with this vase other than areas of scratching and discolouration through use to he glaze and wear and tear to the base. Overall structure seems fine with no visible cracks, chips or losses.
Minton Secessionist pottery vases, a pair, with tapered body beneath a bulbous top, each with green printed factory mark and incised marks to the base, each 32 cm high (2) (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both vases in this lot are structurally sound. No visible cracks, losses or chips. Some areas of wear to the rim of their bases and one has clear and visible horizontal separation in the glaze to the top of the globular upper section of the vase, this runs to 1.5 cm in length and is no more than 0.5 mm wide.
A Minton Secessionist vase, of cylindrical flared form, with Minton mark to the base, No. 1. 28 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: This vase is structurally intact, no cracks, hairline cracks, losses or chips visible or apparent. There are areas of wear to the rim of the base. These are visible from the side and are noted by areas of wear to the glaze. Also some loss to the slip decoration to the edge of the top of the vase.
A collection of three Minton Secessionist vases, Tallest 29 cm high, each with Minton mark to the base, No. 1. (3). CONDITION REPORT: The tallest vase is structurally sound with no visible cracks, losses or chips. The second more bulbous shaped vase does have losses to glaze on the slip decoration and plenty of wear and dirt. It is structurally sound. The final vase has a visible chip to its rim +/- 1 cm in width.
A Minton Secessionist vase, with tapered body beneath a bulbous top, burgundy printed Minton mark to the base together with incised marks and numerals. 32 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are condition issues to the glaze around the rim at the top, a number of cracks which are visible from the top and the side, the largest runs to 1 cm. the glaze is not lifting in any way but the cracks are visible. Overall the structure is sound. There are imperfections to the glaze and visible wear to the base and the side itself with another small chip that is visible when the vase is placed on a flat surface. Also surface scratches and areas of crazing.

CONDITION REPORT: The two handled vase of baluster form and the second larger vase are both with no visible damage or restoration. The smallest vase has significant chips to its base which are visible from the side.
Minton Secessionist wares, a chamber candlestick marked to base No 1, a spill vase with Minton mark to the base No. 68, and an unmarked vase (3) (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chamber stick has four cracks to its interior. These run from the base upwards in four different areas and extend to 2 cm long in places. Some are visible from the other side. There is a further crack to the top of the chamber stick as well. The other two vases in the lot appear structurally sound.
A collection of Monart Glass, to include a footed bowl, two vases and a bowl, some with aventurine inclusions, all with clear glass grounds and swirling decoration. Largest vase 25 cm high (4). CONDITION REPORT: There are four items of glass in this lot, all are in structurally sound condition. Clearly some will have signs of wear to the base through use, i.e. scratching etc. The largest green vase has a small chip to the base to the pontil mark, this however is not visible when it is placed upright. Otherwise no losses, chips or damage visible to any of the four items.
A pair of Minton Secessionist vases, of rounded cylindrical form with lilac green and blue colour and tube lined decoration, marked to each base Minton Limited No. 1, each vase 32 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The first vase has a clear crack to its base. This runs on both the inside and outside of the ceramic body and is clearly visible. It extends to 2 cm long. There is also a large chip to the base +/- 2 cm long and a chip of 1 cm in width, it is not visible from the side of the vase. The second vase also has a crack to the rim of its base +/- 1.5 cm long and visible both from inside and outside of the vase. You can see it through the glaze. Alongside these breaks these vases are otherwise in used condition. There are no other major condition issues visible, just occasional scratches, scuff marks and the odd small bit of glaze missing from the slip decoration.
A Minton Secessionist vase of rounded cylindrical form, red with tube lined swag decoration, marked Minton Limited No. 1 to the base. 32.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are no visible cracks, hairline cracks or breaks to this vase. There is a small chip to the base, this is not visible from the side. There are also areas of wear to the slip decoration, scratches to the glazed surface and some areas of dirt.
A pair of Minton Secessionist twin handled vases, with lilac and green colour and tube lined decoration stamped Minton Limited No. 1 to each base, both 31.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both vases in this lot are structurally sound with no visible chips, cracks or hairline crack. There are some areas of use and wear to the base and also one has a very clear and obvious glaze and firing fault to the neck of the rim of the vase, this is very visible. Otherwise overall they are in used condition with some areas of wear.
A Troika pottery cube vase, of square design with incised and painted geometric decoration, signed for Linda Taylor. 9 cm x 9 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This Troika ceramic cube is structurally sound, no visible cracks, breaks or losses. There are areas of wear and use. The interior is with much ingrained dirt. There is one small and very slightly visible chip, no more than 0.5 mm to the underside of one corner. Ingrained dirt to the base, overall in used condition.
A substantial Murano glass vase, with coloured swirl decoration and aventurine inclusions. 38 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is no visible loss or damage to this glass vase. Occasional imperfections to the surface when blown. Some scratches and wear to the base but overall structure is fine.
A Carltonware hand painted vase, with blue ground, impressed mark to base 244, with oriental wooden stand, together with a Radford Burslem vase and a Carltonware Rouge Royale dish. Tallest Carltonware vase excluding stand 15.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are no significant losses, cracks or condition issues with any of the three items in this lot. Some rubbed decoration and signs of use and wear, but overall all three are structurally sound.
An Edwardian Arts & Crafts silver vase, with three curved outswept handles, London 1901 maker Charles Clement Pilling (Sibray Hall & Co Ltd). weight +/- 180 grams, 15.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The hallmarks are clear. Plenty of small dents and dinks to the body of this vase, the majority being nearer its base. Structurally it looks sound. No splits or losses or misshaping. This is very much in a used state.
A selection of Royal Crown Derby tea ware and similar, various, in the gilt heightened Imari pattern and a Davenport vase in similar Imari palette No. 6060 on dolphin trefoil base. Height 13 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Not all the pieces ring true. This is very much in mixed condition. The largest plate has a hairline crack +/- 2 cm long running from the centre to the rim on the underside. One of the teacups has a chip to its rim +/- 0.4 mm long. Another tea cup has a hairline crack to its rim which runs up to 1 cm long. All have wear to their bases, one with repairs to the rim at the base. The decoration on the handles is often rubbed in places. The side plates also show wear to their decoration. One with a visible chip to the rim. Two causers also with significant chips to their rim. The coffee can with large and significant crack which runs from the top rim through to the base, visible from both inside and outside of the coffee can.
A Lancastrian green and fish decorated lustre bowl, with impressed marks to the base. 15 cm high, 23.5 cm in diameter (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This bowl has one significant chip to the rim of the base which is 1 cm in width and ½ cm in depth. It is barely visible from the side when the vase is placed on a flat surface but it is clearly visible from above. Overall, the rest of the structure of this bowl is fine with no significant losses or cracks. There is plenty of dirt and crazing to the interior of the bowl and the exterior has several places where the lustre and glaze have discoloured. There aree occasional scratches and small dents to the surface. In used condition.
A pair of Bohemian glass vases, the bodies with alternating panels of hobnail cut decoration and painted foliate sprays, raised on circular bases with gilded decoration. Each 32 cm high (2) (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: One vase has a severe split and repair to one of the pointed castellated tops, this is very visible. Alongside this both have small chips to the base through use and the gold decoration is rubbed in places.
A collection of late 19th century painted glassware, comprising two decanters with stoppers, a large vase with floral decoration and a small tumbler (4). CONDITION REPORT: The larger taller decanter has a stopper with some chips to its end. Overall it has rubbed decoration and wear to its base. The second decanter has a clear and significant chip, these are large to the rim of its base and visible. Again overall it has some wear to its decoration. Its stopper is much damaged at one end with big losses. The largest vase has visible scratches. Structurally it is sound and the smaller cup is in structurally sound condition.
An antique gilt brass magnifier, together with a magnifying multi tool, a cut glass atomiser and a stem vase with hallmarked silver base, maker Walker & Hall. CONDITION REPORT: All items show signs of age related wear but nothing untoward. The vase silver is Sheffield date letter H for 1900. There is possibly a small repair where the stem meets the base. There is chipped glass in the silver stem vase.
