Lot 481

A Chinese porcelain yuhuchunping vase, painted in underglaze blue with two five clawed dragons amongst clouds with floral decorated border, bearing painted six character mark to base, height 31cm. Formerly with 'Oriental Ceramic Society Exhibition Label' dated 1947 (or 49) to base.Provenance: from a local private family collection. CONDITION REPORT: Some natural pitting flaws to the body of the vase and very light surface wear however it is free from chips, cracks and restoration. Originally there was a paper label to the base which the vendor removed before presenting it for auction although we do have a photograph showing it attached to the vase. We are unsure of the age however we can advise that it has been with the current vendor for over 50 years.

Lot 482

A large Chinese Kangxi clobbered baluster jar and cover painted with blue flowers and leaves on a red ground, blue painted double ring and leaf mark to base, on an associated 19th century hardwood stand, height of vase 42cm, overall height 56.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Two rim chips to the lid, now clearly gilded. Some fritting to the lid rim otherwise appears good with no further obvious faults, damage or restoration..

A late 18th/early 19th century Chinese porcelain transitional style squat baluster vase, painted in underglaze blue with continuous landscape with bamboo, pine and blossoming prunus, within two ornamental bands, bearing a single character mark within double ring, height 20.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: A major area of chips and manufacturing imperfections to the rim of the base, pitting, surface wear and dirt.

A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese Canton Famille Rose porcelain baluster vase with cylindrical neck and flared raised rim, painted in enamels with birds, butterflies and floral sprays, height 44.5cm (rim extensively restored). CONDITION REPORT: Large area of restoration to neck and rim.

Lot 504

A late 18th/early 19th century Chinese Provincial ceramic tapering ribbed vase, height 15cm, a similar bowl painted in underglaze blue with floral and foliate sprays and with scratched character mark to the centre, diameter 16cm, a shallow bowl and a brown glazed squat baluster vase (af) (4).

Lot 511

A near pair of 19th century Chinese vases and covers, painted in underglaze blue with two opposing panels depicting battle scenes on a scroll ground within floral bands, with dog of Fo finials, each bearing Kangxi four character mark to base, height 32cm and 33cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: One of the vases has a crudely reglued area to the neck, approx 3cm of losses to the rim. The other vase has a hairline spreading from the rim and an area of firing imperfection, one area of fritting to the rim and some small nibbles to the base and chips to rims of the covers.

A 20th century Chinese porcelain baluster vase with flared rim painted with variously shaped vases to the main body, on green mottled ground, bearing Kangxi six character mark within double ring mark to base, height 43cm. CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration..

A pair of small Chinese porcelain sang de boeuf glazed bottle vases, each with four character mark to base, height 13.5cm, a ceramics green glazed censer with impressed mark and a matching vase, height 12cm, also a pair of reverse decorated glass snuff bottles (6). CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.

A Chinese porcelain cylindrical brush pot painted in iron red with three temple lions amongst clouds, unmarked, height 12cm, also a Japanese cloisonné enamel decorated baluster vase and a smaller example (3). CONDITION REPORT: All three items are damaged and in need of repair.

Lot 534

A pair of late19th/early 20th century Chinese porcelain pilgrim/moonflasks, each painted in underglaze blue with a figural scene in landscape on blossoming prunus ground, with moulded twin handles, height 26cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: One vase is badly at fault with major loss to the neck and one missing handle, the other with major loss to one handle. A bruise to the rim and with spreading hairline. General minor surface wear commensurate with age.

Lot 539

A pair of late 19th century Chinese baluster vases painted in underglaze blue with large jars and covers on stands flanked by two men to both sides on blossoming branch ground, within two ornamental borders and with dog of Fo finials to the covers, (both af), bearing Kangxi four character mark to base, height 27.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: One finial has been broken off with traces of previous regluing, the other has a loss to the head, same cover with a chip to the side. Some fritting to the edges of the vase and one cover.

CONDITION REPORT: Pair of sleeve vases are 20.5cm tall. The lid of the small baluster vase is damaged, otherwise ok.

CONDITION REPORT: Rubbing to gilding and decoration throughout, also a covering of dirt to the vase. There is a 2.5 x 1.75cm sliver chip chip which has been glued to the rim and also two 3cm hairline cracks to the rim.
