Sechskantige Pfeilvase. Bronze. Ming-Zeit, wohl 16. Jh. Von typischer Form mit bauchigem Korpus, in den sechs durch Stege unterteilten Feldern springende Fabeltiere in hohem Relief. An dem sechseckigen Hals, um den sich ein Drache windet, zwei ebenfalls sechseckige kurze Röhren, dekoriert mit gegossenen archaistischen Ornamenten.Solche Vasen, genannt touhou, mit jeweils zwei oder auch mehreren röhrenförmigen Applikationen an der Mündung dienten dem Pfeilspiel, das eigentlich ein Trinkspiel bei Banketten war. In früher Zeit wurden Pfeile in hu-förmige Vasen geworfen, ab der Tang-Zeit wurde der Hals dann um zwei Zylinder ergänzt. Zwei kniende Spieler mussten ihre jeweils zwölf kurzen Pfeile in die drei Öffnungen werfen und der, der die meisten Treffer hatte, hat gewonnen.
