A RARE SWANSEA PORCELAIN VASE having a flared neck, twin gryphon handles & a waisted stem over an octagonal foot, the stem decorated with pink roses in a seeded reserve, the upper half of the body finely painted with roses, wild flowers & foliage all around, rims, handles & other areas picked out in gold, impressed SWANSEA mark to edge of base, 15cms high Condition report: restoration to stem, nibbles to foot & restoration to neck
19th century AD or earlier. An undated archaistic bronze vase in Seljuk style, with flaring rim narrowing to a thin neck, series of lugs to the side of the neck; flat shoulder, globular body and flaring pedestal base all decorated with floral pattern. 255 grams, 14 cm (5 1/2"). The property of an English gentleman; formerly in a German collection; acquired 1980s-early 1990s. Fair condition.
