A group of five Japanese Meiji Period three tone polished bronze vases, comprising a slender slightly ovoid example decorated with a chicken on a branch, height 22cm, a similarly decorated smaller pair, height 18cm, and a small pair decorated with bamboo, height 12cm, all five signed.Provenance: private collection in Surrey.Additional InformationThe two smaller vases have several dents around the base and also some small dents to the bodies and light surface scratches. The second pair, one has a bruise towards the top of the shoulder and a couple of tiny pin head sized dents, the other one has a single small dent approx. 3mm to the body and general surface wear throughout. The taller single vase has light surface wear, light scratches but otherwise OK.

An 18th century Chinese Famille Rose porcelain twin handled vase and cover painted with floral sprays, with moulded dragon handles, height 25cm, together with further Oriental items including an early 19th century blue and white tea bowl, two further blue and white tea bowls, assorted metalware, etc (part af).Additional InformationThere are too many items to give an accurate condition report in this lot however the lidded jar is af with losses to the handles, chips to the rim and cracks to the body, the tea bowls with light wear, the mid size example with chipping to the foot and the smaller example with chipping to the rim.

A pair of Chinese late 19th century blue and white vases, unmarked, height 15.25cm, a 20th century Chinese Canton plate and a 'Napoleon' blue and white transfer decorated jug.Additional InformationOne of the vases has a 1cm x 0.75cm chip to the rim, the second vase has an almost identical chip to that rim, some general pitting to the surface throughout, surface wear to the plate and the jug has a section of the rim that has been broken and crudely glue repaired in the past and it is also very dirty.

A 17th century Chinese bronze Hu vase with twin handles and band of incised decoration, unmarked, height 20cm, approx. 1698g.The item stands well. It is unknown if the toning and tarnishing will clean up. Provenance: private collection in Surrey. Purchased from China Curios Ceutre in Honk Kong November 1st 1971 and sold with original receipt. Additional InformationThere is a dent to the body around one of the 'corners', has a very pitted finish throughout. There is a small hole to the base and another area of degradation to the base. it is of a dark colour throughout with heavy surface wear. There is also just to the side of one of the handles at the shoulder of the vase, a knock or bruise where there are losses to the bronze.

There are surface dents around the upper portion of the body and a few more to the lower section. the surface is quite pitted.

ARCHIBALD KNOX FOR TUDRIC; a pewter dish of oval form embossed with stylised motifs, width 21.5cm, impressed marks and number 0164, together with an English pewter twin handled vase, numbered 029, height 25cm (2).Additional InformationBoth items have been polished. The tray has light surface wear and scratches, slightly bent, heavy surface wear to the underside. The vase is slightly wobbly, light scratches and surface wear, minor denting to the underside or the rim.

A 19th century Chinese Famille Verte vase, Guangxu mark and of the period, the body decorated with a pair of exotic birds amongst branches and now with gilt metal base, painted six character mark to base, height 48.5cm (af).Additional InformationThe vase has been drilled through the mark to turn into a lamp. there is also a section of very good restoration to the neck. it appears as though there was a section with a clean break which has been very well  restored. There is a fine crack running around the foot rim.

WALTER CRANE FOR MAW & CO; a large red lustre vase, circa 1891, of elongated ovoid form, painted with classical female figures, arms raised and crossed, holding oil lamps between snake-entwined trees and heart shaped border, painted mark to base, height 32.5cm. Additional InformationThere is an area of sprayed restoration to the inside of the rim, however this does appear to only be on the inside, rather than the outside. You can also feel a small rough area underneath the rim where it meets the body of the vase, and there are a couple of light surface scratches, and crazing throughout.

A large Chinese 19th century Canton Famille Rose enamel painted baluster vase with twin pierced handles, the main body decorated with figures, butterflies and birds in landscape, unmarked, height 59cm.Additional InformationSome pitting to the surface a little bit of surface wear and light scratches. There are a couple of star cracks but these are just in the glaze rather than the body of the vase. Overall in good condition.

A 19th century Chinese Famille Rose porcelain vase, with moulded handles and applied creatures, decorated with birds, insects in landscape scene, height 44cm.Additional InformationThe vase has been drilled to be a lamp base, wear to the gilding, chip to the underside of the rim, the top quarter of the vase has been broken off and glued back, there are also chips and losses, from the break.
