A late 19th Century Doulton Lambeth vase by Frank Butler, the body decorated with a shaped panel incised M.M.C I.E.G 1888, the remainder of the body in blue with incised scrolls and foliate decoration, impressed mark, incised monogram, height 25cm I.E.G stands for the International Exhibition (of Science, Art and Industry) Glasgow, held in 1888. It is noted that one of the main commercial exhibitors was Doulton & Co.
An early 20th Century Arts and Crafts Liberty & Co, English Pewter trumpet vase, the conical body and flared foot with a planished finish and an upper band of stylised foliage with inset green cabochons, the body with two applied angular handles with rivet detailing, impressed mark and numbered 0786, height 35cm
MARGARET THOMAS R.B.A., N.E.A.C. (b.1916) Framed, signed with monogram, oil on canvas, titled on stretcher verso, 'Spring', still life of flowers in a vase, on a pile of books resting on chair. Thomas has exhibited frequently at the R.A., as well as holding numerous solo shows throughout the UK, 90.7cm x 49.6cm. Provenance: Bought from Coughton Galleries, Warwickshire 2/04/90; Private Collection thereafter, see original receipt of purchase. (ARR).
