A Large & Impressive Pewter Tankard of the Potters' Guild, Schleikanne Graz, bearing combined town & marker's mark of Graz on the handle with date 1690 and intials HS (Heinrich Schrötter). The scrolling handle with mascaron thumb piece. The lid surmounted by a rampant griffin holding a scrolling shield engraved with a man in a vase and the intials HK, PG and GP and date 1702. The flared base fitted with a bronze tap and raised on three winged angel heads, 21 ins (54 cms) in height.
