A Royal Worcester Nautilus shell vase, Circa 1880-90 The ivory glazed vase modelled as a large open shell, mounted on a coral tendril base, further adorned with smaller conch shells, mounted on a stepped circular socle base, relief moulded with bands of shells and sea foliage, 21cm high, faint factory marks, impressed shape number X10 CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1751: Some discolouration, applied paint just below the rim approximately 2cm x 5cm and similar applied paint internally possibly covering minor internal chips, ring is good doesn't sound as if it is chipped, very minor pin prick chips to ring otherwise good condition.

Lot 1754

A late 19th Century Wedgwood black basalt vase Of campana urn form, raised on a socle and plinth base, the exterior sides beautifully relief moulded with classical scenes of figures holding lyres and scrolls, before leafy Arcadian landscapes, the plinth detailed with stylised flowerhead motifs, the upper sloped neck with lappet and fret borders, flanked by twin arched handles, 20cm high, impressed factory mark and date cypher for 1879. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1754: left hand scrolling handle restored in two places, just to the right of the scroll and also approximately 2cm down from the scroll traces of glue at the join between the bell shape support which is sitting on the plinth base where it joins the leave applied vase.

A collection of late 19th Century and later black basalt wares Comprising a teapot and cover, the exterior sides relief moulded with alternating panel depictions of embracing lovers and floral sprays, set within laurel leaf borders, impressed factory mark, 14cm high, a circular cache pot, raised on a spreading circular low foot ring, adorned with relief foliate garlands and depictions of the Three Graces, 9cm high, a lidded sucrier further adorned with relief moulded depictions of classical and Bacchantes figures, and further basalt wares, some unmarked. (7) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1755: Teapot and cover - the teapot handle has been restored halfway down, the rim of the teapot also restored and it has an unusual treacle glazed interior which suggests it has been subjected to restoration. Oval sugar bowl and cover - cover minor interior chips, one chip to the exterior rim, the lower bowl good condition. Sucrier and cover - good condition. Circular sucrier and cover with applied decoration - restoration to circular cover, good condition, lid loose maybe associated. Small jardiniere - good condition. Small vase - good condition. Small spill vase with a classical bust - good condition.

A Victorian Doulton Lambeth stoneware jardinière and stand The jardiniere extensively damaged signed AP the treacle glazed ground with a frieze applied with leaves and flower heads with a leafy surbase raised upon a vase shaped stand applied with leaves and flower heads with a scroll and leaf frieze leafy surbase raised upon a circular plinth base 104cm x 36cm CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1757: Jardiniere - extensively restored, a large section restored and re glued amateurishly done, approximately 15xm x 20cm with discolouration over the sunflowers and leaves some of the glaze chipped away and missing on the same area, star crack on the opposite side, the stand - the edge of the rim a piece missing approximately 7cm x 1.5cm, some discolouration to the lower baluster section where the applied leaves are, doesn't appear to have damage, probably requires cleaning.

A Victorian Majolica dog whistle modelled in the form of a singing bird Raised upon a circular foot decorated in mottled glazes 7cms high, a near pair of Majolica jugs of angular form applied with thistles and flowers 11cms, relief decorated milk jug with a pale blue ground applied with flowers and leaves 7cms, a Majolica milk jug of circular form with a mask spout 11cms, 2 other jugs, a vase and a Majolica leaf and berry tasting bowl, restored, (9) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1767: Bird dog whistle - no cracks chips or restorations, flakes of glaze missing to the top and bottom of the birds's beak, surface crazing overall, otherwise good. Near pair of similar jugs - minor grazing to the rim overall surface crazing some minor surface scratching to the raised edges of the angles, no cracks or chips, the companion - no restorations, however discolouration to the top and lower sections overall crazing, minor hairline crack below the applied leaf, grazing to raised angles small leaf applied. Shaped circular jug - chip to spout, surface crazing otherwise good. Small Majolica milk jug -with raised floral decoration, minor scratching to rim, good condition. Majolica milk jug with serpent handle - overall surface crazing, good condition. Small squat bowl - overall surface crazing, extensive hairline crack 8cm, discoloured. Small lemon shape bowl on leaves - extensively restored.

A fine pair of Bohemian over lay glass vases, late 19th Century Each of elongated trumpet shape with a wavy gilt highlighted rim, the body cut with trefoil's and elongated lancet shape clear glass panels against a blue ground painted with stars on a knopped stem and a spreading trumpet shape circular base. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1768: One of the pair, chip to the underside of the scalloped rim approximately 1cm x 0.5cm, some rubbing to the gilt on the outer rim covering the opaque glass, rubbing to the gilt outlining the elongated lancets, some gilt stars rubbed to the outer blue overlayed border opposite to each lancet, minor rubbing to the circular shaped oval clear glass panels and minor rubbing to the gilt around the roundels on the circular base, some rubbing to the exterior gilt of the circular base, one minor chip to the base of the foot rim. Second vase, chip to the circular base just below the base of the foot rim approximately 1.5cm x 0.5cm and the outer gilt outlining the rim some rubbing, rubbing to the gilt outlining the lancets, rubbing and some stars rubbed out on the blue overlayed glass, rubbing on the gilt to the circular base minor, rubbing to the rim minor.

A Minton two handled vase and cover The white ground with a ribbon tied interlaced band enclosing roses above a frieze painted with roses, gilt jewelled border with scrolling leaves raised upon a plinth base, gilt coronet and globe mark circa 1900. 21cms, a Minton's two handled vase the white fluted ground decorated with roses and pendant leaves and flowers raised upon an oval base, red coronet and the globe mark circa 1900, 15cms, a Minton's table ink well, liner and cover with a blue frieze decorated with sprays of roses and flowers, green coronet and globe mark circa 1880, 10cms, two similar decorated tea and coffee cups and saucers and a side plate (8) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1784: Two handled vase and cover - the cover, rubbing to gilt finial, crazing to the blue enamel ground, the two handled lower vase gilt bright no repairs or damage to handles, the white body overall crazing, a hairline crack running beneath the interlaced oval approx. 6cm, hairline crack running through the blue shouldered frieze enclosing the roundels with roses approx. 6cm and running in to the white lower tapering vase shaped frieze approx. 3.5cm and a second hairline crack to the same frieze, overall crazing to the blue enamel ground on the lower support and plinth, hairline crack running through the underside through the fixing central screw underneath the plinth. Two handled tapering vase decorated with roses damage to left hand handle broken and re glued traces of glue just beneath the angular shoulder and restoration to the sea scroll, lower part of handle, piece missing and glue showing, surface scratching to the white ground and some surface crazing, minor rubbing to the gilt oval foot rim. Inkwell cover and liner - the cover - possible old damage to the branch handle at the end, possibly repainted, circular stand - possibly repainted, circular stand - rubbing to the inner gilt of the inkwell holder, no cracks chips or restorations, decoration good condition, gilt work good condition with the exception of the inner part of the stand, the inkwell - good condition, minor rubbing to the inner gilt rim. Tall cup and saucer - minor rubbing to the gilt rim and the gilt on handle, saucer - minor rubbing to the rim, some surface scratching to the inner well. Wide cup and saucer - overall freckling to the white and blue ground of the cup and saucer, otherwise good condition. Small side plate - overall crackle glazing, minor chip to the blue enamel rim.

A Minton's two handled vase and cover The blue ground decorated with a white frieze painted with pendant garlands of roses and blooms raised upon a circular foot, red coronet and globe mark circa 1900, 11.5cms, a Minton's thistle shape box and cover the white ground with a gilt rim decorated with roses and other blooms, red coronet and globe mark, a similarly decorated heart shape box and cover, a coffee can, two saucers and a damaged basket. (7) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1785: Two handled vase and cover - cover in good condition, the two handled vase - overall crazing to the blue ground, no crazing to the white frieze, gilt to handles and rim bright, no restoration to handles and beads, very fine hairline crack to foot rim, minor. Thistle shape box and cover - good condition. Heart shape box and cover - good condition. Pair of shaped rose painted dishes - both in good condition. Coffee can - doesn't ring but no sign of cracks. Shaped basket - handle broken and detached, chipped rim.

Third one - the work of Mary Ann Bycroft, bright colours, no moth, no tears, good condition. Fourth sampler - Mary Jackson 1847 - some minor stretching and discolouration to the outer border. A good Victorian gilt brass mounted mahogany chiming table clock, "Dent London" English circa 1880 with a 19cm dial signed on a plaque, Dent, London with Roman and Arabic numerals with blued steel scrolling hands, leaf and shell spandrels and subsidiary dials in the arch for chime/silent, slow fast and chime on eight bells and Westminster, the massive three train fusee and chain movement with anchor escapement and chiming on eight bells or four gongs with a further hour gong the bell/top case with five vase shape finials applied with a crisply cast gilt brass mounts with a vase of blooms and scrolling leaves the arched door with a bevelled glass, leaf and arrow cast mounts flanked by canted angles applied with figural leafy well cast mounts, the sides with gilt brass fretwork panels depicting a classical figure amongst pendent blooms and leafy scrolls, the back door with a panel pierced with quatrefoil's and roundels raised upon a plinth base with gilt metal mounts, leaf and paw feet. 73cms high x 41x30cms, with substantial winding key, and pendulum (illustrated) NB: See Britten's old clock and watches and their makers, 1986, page 423, Edward John Dent is listed at 61 Strand from 1851 to his death in 1853, and Frederick Dent from 1853 until his death in 1860 (upon his death the name continued until (1864) by 1867 the firm had become E Dent & Company. The firm Dent of London is recognised as the makers of "Big Ben" the main clock in the tower of the House of Parliament. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2080: the case, the central finial tight, back right hand finial loose and requires tightening, gilded metal work dusty requires cleaning, hinged front door hinges tight, glass appears to be original, some discolouration to metalwork border requires cleaning, minor rusting to left hand spandrel to the right hand screw, minor discolouration to the right hand spandrel bottom right hand corner by the screw, canted figural applications some minor discolouration, minor fading to the cavetto and plinth, pierced metal side panels left hand side good condition, right hand side minor discolouration to the outer edge, the arched dial, good condition, the name plaque dull and unpolished, minor discolouration to the outer silvered arch, very minor fading to the left and right hand side of the case showing traces of chalk streaking in polish, the rear door - the inset metal panel metalwork in good condition, some tears and holes to the red material backed lining.
