The sheet shows multiple creases throughout, particularly at the edges, and a small pin hole on the lower left hand edge. There are some passages of paint that show some very fine networks of cracks, particularly in the white rose, the pink rose and the blue vase, though there is no significant loss of paint. The white rose shows some abrasions to the surface, there are also a number of other small abrasions to the left of the red rose and above the foliage on the left hand side. Areas of the paper are not painted reveal that the surface is typically toned and discoloured.
