* A collection of six George III and Victorian tally irons, including one with turned column with vase finial, on three cabriole supports, 28cm high. The tully iron was probably introduced into England in the 17th century. It was heated inserted an iron bar which was removed before use. The material was pressed across it in circular sweeps to achieve a scalloped effect.. (6)

Rodney Lawrence studied at Harrow School of Art and was a student of David Leach. He set up a studio with partner Elizabeth Raeburn in Somerset in 1976. Both Rodney and Elizabeth have exhibited widely and their works are in many private collections and museums across the world..
