A set of twelve single and two arm late 19th Century carved and inlaid oak Queen Anne style dining chairs, the cresting rails carved with angelic masks above the solid vase-shaped splats, decorated with inlaid floral designs in ebony and other woods, the uprights with leaf carved decoration, the drop-in tapestry covered seats raised on turned and square legs with carved paterae and understretchers. Provenance: Reputed to have been purchased at the dispersal sale of the contents of Lampton Castle, Co. Durham, in 1932.
A good quality Georgian style mahogany twin pedestal 'D' end dining table decorated with ebonised stringing, raised on turned and fluted columns, with down swept fluted legs terminating in brass castors, with two spare leaves; together with four carver and four single dining chairs, by Shard Stebbing (Bevan Funnell), each with scroll carved top rails and pierced vase-shaped splats, the stuff-over seats raised on fluted chamfered legs connected by stretchers.
