A celadon-ground, famille rose Vase, Jiaqing (1796-1820) painted in underglaze blue in low relief and gilt with immortals, the celadon ground with famille-rose, peony, butterflies and other flowers, restored, 44cm CONDITION REPORT: 15cm of rim x 10cm of neck showing signs of restoration. Otherwise no major fault. No marks.
A pair of Canton large Vases, second half of the 19th century, each rouleau body painted with panels of dignitaries and attendants, the shoulders with chilong and with Buddhist lion handles, one with crack, 60.5cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: Fritting to underside of rim. Fritting and small chips to the underside of the rim. Other vase has a very fine 15.5cm crack to centre panel of main body. It also has some light fritting to underside of rim.
A pair of Vases, 20th century, finely hand painted with ducks amongst flowering peony, asters and rocks, six character Guangxu marks, one vase with pieces to neck missing, 24.7cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: One vase with pieces missing to neck. One piece loose and with 3cm hairline crack to neck issuing from damage. The other one with no obvious faults.
A rare pair of gilt mirror-black-ground Vases, probably late Guangxu, each globular body and flared neck well gilt with monkeys in a pine tree, deer, birds and rocks, the mouth with key-fret and cloud collar, the shoulders with bats amongst clouds, red da Qing Qianlong nian zhi within underglaze blue double rings held by green and aubergine dragons, one mouth damaged with loss, gilding wear, 38cm, on carved wood stands (4) CONDITION REPORT: Each vase with gilt rubbing around the rim and neck. One vase with the gilt decoration rubbed to pine tree. The other vase has a large broken section of neck, which has been loosely sellotaped back. Two small sections of neck rim missing. Wood stand jammed on base.
Three blue and white Moon Flasks, late 19th century, one with a scene from 'The Western Wing', the lover, Zhang Sheng, approaching his beloved, Cui Yingying, over a wall, the other with merchants almost forming a pair, the third with performers, the ground with lotus, the shoulders with chilong, 26.3, 24.3 and 14.6cm (3) CONDITION REPORT: Larger vase - no obvious faults. Middle vase - hairline crack from rim to shoulder, tiny chip to rim. Small vase - kiln dirt to interior rim, small firing crack to foot, otherwise no obvious faults.
A pair of unusual moulded Vases, early 20th century, each with a panel of Liuhai with a ribbon of cash and standing on his toad, the corners with bat and endless ribbons and the sides with elephant head and fixed ring handles, the grounds in celadon, peppermint green and royal blue, one with crack, one with chip, 27cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: One vase with 2cm x 1cm chunk missing from top rim corner. Small chips to foot rim. Glazing missing to left hand side elephant trunk handle. Small section missing to opposite elephant trunk handle. Second vase, small amount of glaze missing to elephant trunk handle. Small amount of enamel decoration missing to foot rim. A crack to base.

The other vase with a small amount of fritting to rim.
A famille rose Vase, Republic Period, enamelled with panels of male and female figures in gardens, reserved on a complex ground of scrolling lotus above pale yellow, the shoulders with red and gold lion mask and ring handles below pink bamboo leaves, red six character seal mark of Qianlong, 20cm, wood stand (2) CONDITION REPORT: Slight rubbing to gilt rim.
A rare carved Gourd Brush Pot, probably early 20th century, by Lei Buji, the large hexagonal vessel carved on each panel with birds and plants, the surface like that of old natural leather, four seal character mark Xing you heng Tang, 17cm Xing you heng Tang translates as the 'Hall of Constant Conduct' which belonged to 5th Prince Ding Zaiquan, great-great-grandson of Qianlong, who was known for his love of collecting. However, Ding died in 1854 and it is thought that this, and other comparable pieces such as the bottle vase sold by Sotheby's Hong Kong on 8 October 2010, Lot 2233, were carved by Lei of Beijing in the 1920s and 30s. CONDITION REPORT: No obvious faults.
A rare walnut-shell Carving, possibly Sino-Tibetan and probably late Ming, carved on one side with the Buddha in prayer against a flaming mandala, the reverse with Guanyin with her vase of healing water, both flanked by acolytes and wreathed in powerful clouds, the sides with a temple and banana leaves, the base with gadroons, 4cm, on a modern copper Japanese futa-oki Stand (2) Walnut shells have been used in China for centuries as 'finger stretchers' to make the fingers more flexible prior to writing and as 'worry beads'. They are commonly in pairs. A walnut comprises two equal halves, in Chinese hehe: harmony and unity, hence the twins, the He He Erxian. A newly married couple's wedding bed is bestrewn with walnuts to ensure fertility, as does Guanyin. Walnuts with innumerable heads of Immortals are very common, most of modern origin; this form of early carving has not previously been noted. The futa-oki is used to support the lid of the water jar during the Japanese Tea Ceremony. CONDITION REPORT: Small nick to rim of stand. No obvious faults to walnut.
A bronze Incense Burner and Cover, 18th century in Wanli style, the base well cast with scrolling lotus between elephant head handles and on elephant head feet, the domed cover conforming, a resting elephant supporting a vase of cash and flowers, the whole well chased with scrolling flowers and set with half pearls, some missing, one handle repaired, 21cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: One jewel missing to elephant head on lid, further jewel to centre head on one leg and above head of further leg. Both elephant mask handles soldered. Later jewelled beads applied. Later paper decoration applied to elephant cloth.
A bronze Avalokitesvara, late Ming, the goddess sitting cross-legged on a waisted lotus throne, flames on her upper arms with a vase and bird and in Kaludra Mudra, her chest with jewels and a diadem on her head, traces of red and black lacquer and gold leaf, 27cm CONDITION REPORT: Traces of paint and gilding remaining, otherwise no obvious faults.

Some inclusions/fracture marks.
A complex grey-green stone Carving, modern, in the form of an archaic vase and cover with dragon head handles and knop, supported on the back of two further dragons, loose ring handles, tiny chips, 20cm, wood stand (3) CONDITION REPORT: The Kylin lid has been restored and glued, both handles to lid missing. Chip to both right hand side dragon mouth's. The upper dragon missing a link beneath its mouth. Ring to lower dragon restored. Left hand side dragon lower link has been broken and glued. Right and side dragon far left claw missing. Underside has chips to both dragons rear feet. Upper right hand dragon has small section missing from ear.
A Box and Cover, 18th and 20th century, the domed cover probably originally from a rui sceptre, carved with a double xi within large twin fish, peony, vase and hat, set on a well engraved soapstone base, carved with scrolls and dyed to simulate spinach-green jade, 14.2cm CONDITION REPORT: The lid rim and interior underside are not jade, only the carved cover is jade. Rui and base with no obvious faults.

A Louis XIV ormolu and gilt metal mantel clock with a 17cm dial, with an enamel plaque signed Gaudron, with twelve piece enamel cartouche dial, hands possibly later, with an outer seconds ring, the dial engraved with scrolling leaves and flowers, rectangular 2 train barrel movement signed Gaudron, Paris with vase shaped pillars, the movement with a vertical hammer striking on a bell, numbered count wheel mounted on the right of the back plate, the straight sided case surmounted with a bird with outstretched wings, the inverted bell top pierced with leaves, flambeau finials, above wing masks, and a baluster frieze terminating with a caryatid one side panel glazed, the other panel lacking, raised upon three front wind and mask supports, rear toupie feet, with a pendulum, 40x21.5cmx12cm (illustrated) NB: Antoine Gaudron is recorded in Baille 'Watchmaners and Clockmaker of the World' as working from circa 1675.
