William Moorcroft (1872-1945), a Moonlit Blue pattern ceramic vase, c.1925, signed W Moorcroft in green, impressed Moorcroft Made in England, with indistinct three impressed numbers,The oviform with everted neck tube-lined with stylised trees, coloured and glazed,25 cm high There is a hairline on the underside of the foot rim that has just crept into the side of the vase. Crazing to the glaze. The occasional speck inclusion and bubble in the glaze but this is from the making process. Light natural wear.

Lot 101

René Lalique (French 1860-1945), a 'Royat', No.12-217, clear and frosted glass vase, Designed 1936, this a post war example, faint mark 'Lalique Cristal', The flared form moulded with vertical serrated ribs terminating with protruding discs around the neck rim, 15.5 cm high, A small bruise on the serrated edge of one disc and on the the end of the rib near the foot. A few minute and minor abrasions/nicks to the inner rim. There is heavy wear to the base and the mark is very difficult to read.

René Lalique (French 1860-1945), 'Rampillon' No. 991, an opalescent glass vase, Designed 1927, engraved R. Lalique France, N:991, The flared form moulded with lozenge shaped protrusions against a foliate ground,12.5 cm high There is a tiny, shallow slither chip on the inside of the rim and some further minute nicks. There are some small nicks and abrasions on the ends of some of the protrusions. A mould-stress line to the inside on the base and a few on the sides - but this is not damage - it is part of the making process. Wear to the raised rim of the underside of the foot in keeping with age and use.

There is crazing and dirt evident in the bottom of the vase - along with some dirt and marks. There is some grazing to the glaze on the very edge of the neck rim and a small chip. Some small chips and nicks to the underside of the foot rim.

Dr Christopher Dresser (British 1834-1904) for Linthorpe, an earthenware vase, c.1880, faint maker's mark and partial facsimile signature, The slightly flattened, baluster form with narrow neck and splayed foot incised on one side with banded zig-zag decoration and the other side with streaked glazes, 18.8 cm high Some fine wear and scratches, and some colour/glaze inclusions from the making process. Crazing to the glaze. Wear to the base. Glaze pooling but this is how it was made. Marks are faint and obscured by the thick glaze.

Hinge for cover wobbles a bit. Glass ok. A few old marks and some light wear for copper elements, but generally good. There are some not very clear stamped letters and numbers on the inside of the cover - D.E.P 10385 and *? R.G 1*?8180

Loetz (Austrian), an iridescent ‘prototype’ Phaenomen Genre glass vase with six handles, c.1901/2, ground out pontil,Having six pulled loop handles and wavy rim, decorated with vibrant green iridescence on a puce ground with some random iridescent spots, with a Silberiris interior,16 cm high, approximate width 21.5 cmProperty from a Private Collection Literature: Ricke, Helmut et al, ‘Lötz Bohmisches Glas 1880-1940, Band I, Werkmonographie’, Prestel-Verlag, 1989, p.146, 131 (a three handled vase with similar decoration illustrated), the text records the decoration as unknown and goes on to comment that the form is related to a series of vases with handles that were designed around 1901/1902 and that “..since the colours of the strongly contrasting decoration are completely unusual for Loetz, it is reasonable to assume that it is a one-off piece made in 1901 for experimental purposes or a prototype” (translated).A few tiny open bubbles and some speck inclusions from the making process. Some rubbing to surface of iridescence on the inside of the wavy rim, and some wear to interior centre and with deposit residue. Natural wear to underside on base.
