A fine double-barrelled gun by Boutet dating: early 19th Centuryprovenance: FranceSmooth, round, 15 mm cal. barrels, flattened on the sides at the first part, provided with rib with foresight featuring remains of golden frame and the signature "Boutet Directeur Artiste Manufacture a Versailles", at the base remains of stamps including "L C" and gilt frames; tang with broad sight, frames and outlines; locks with flat plates oblique at the borders, signed "Boutet Directeur Artiste / Manufacture a Versailles", decorated with outlines and small, floral engravings. Walnut half stock with checkered open-woks at the neck and the fore-end (a small defect and a restoration), provided with horn muzzle, the butt covered with a cushion covered with black leather. Steel mounts; fine trigger guard with floral engravings and frames, the fore tail decorated as a vase on a column, the butt-plate with a frame engraved with spirals and flower-shaped screws. The mouth-piece featuring a shield and floral frames, two barrel brackets. Brass-tipped wooden ramrod with iron cartridge extractor.dimensions: length 126 cm.
