A good quality early Victorian carved figured walnut open showframe armchairthe arched moulded top rail flowing into the outswept arms, terminating in scrolls, over a button upholstered vase back with floral and foliate carved showframe, the serpentine seat raised on floral and foliate carved cabriole front legs with brass and china casters, height to back 34.5in. (87.5cm.), height to sat 14in. (35.5cm.), 24in (61cm.) wide.
A mid-20th century Qum style rugthe central pale green, light blue, pale brown and madder floral decorated pendant medallion with birds, on a dark blue floral and vase field with ivory spandrels, within an ivory floral and vase border and dark blue floral meander outer border, 150 x 118in. (381 x 300cm.).
An antique Chinese doucai enamelled porcelain bottle vaseprobably 19th century, the ovoid body with tapering elongated neck with swollen knop below the everted rim, decorated in doucai and famille rose enamels with flowers, fruits and auspicious objects over underglaze blue, the neck and knop with similar decoration on a green scale and iron red ground respectively, on a short waisted foot, double concentric circles to base, 17.5in. (44.5cm.) high, repaired chip to rim.
A pair of Chinese cinnabar lacquered style vases baluster form, carved with floral and foliate patterns with four reserves depicting figural scenes, metal rims, 10in. (25.5in.) tall. (2)* Condition: Flaking to top and bottom rims & underside of both vases. Chip and flake to neck interior of one vase.
An 18th century Chinese Sang-de-Bouef glazed porcelain bottle vase the teardrop shaped body rising to a short neck and strongly everted rim, the evenly coloured glaze paling to a mottled creamy brown at the rim, on a short, slightly flared foot, unusual archaic style three character vertical mark to base, 11in. (28cm.) high, base drilled, two small chips and hairline crack to rim, on a carved hardwood stand on three branch form feet. (2)* Condition: Small chip to top of rim and one smaller chip to underside of rim. Also 2in. hairline from rim. Base has central drilled hole for lamp conversion which has removed central character from mark. A few small scratches and abrasions to glaze on belly of vase.
A Chinese wucai decorated porcelain inverted baluster jar and cover, probably Transitional period, c.1650, finely and densely painted with an allover design of infant boys climbing the scrolling stems of flowering peonies, some foliage in underglaze blue, the uprising neck and domed cover with cracked ice and polychrome arrow leaf borders, the base with six character Chenghua marks within double concentric circles, 14.5in. (36.8cm.) high, the vase badly cracked.* A sleeve vase with very similar decoration was sold at Christies New York, 'Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art', 18th September 2003.
A large Japanese Imari porcelain Temple vaseMeiji period (1868-1912), of ovoid form with waisted neck & everted rim, heavily decorated in gilt and enamel work, the ornately framed reserves depict two traditionally dressed fruit pickers within a forest scene, the main body depicts Golden Onagadori cockerels at the waterside, height 31in. (78.7cm.) on hard wood base.
A Persian brass vase18th century, flared trumpet form neck bearing petal form reserves infilled with alternate figural and foliate decoration above a single globular knop, steep ovoid form body bearin stylised animal designs to lower section seated apon a flared circular foot, 11¾in. (29.8cm.) high, together with a Persian spice container, Mamluk bowl and a Indian copper plate. (4)
