A FINE JAPANESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASE BY HAYASHI KODENJI (1831-1915) MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY The slender baluster body richly worked in gold and silver wire, decorated with a flutter of sparrows, some small birds flying on the dark navy-blue ground and others perched amongst branches of prunus, with an abundance of blossoms including sakura, chrysanthemum, daisies, irises, lily, carnations and others amongst dense foliage, the neck decorated with chrysanthemum flowerheads and scrolling tendrils, the rim and foot with a band of flowers, the base signed Aichi Hayashi saku, the four characters inscribed around the diamond-shaped mark for the Hayashi Kodenji workshop of Nagoya, together with a fitted wood stand, 18cm.
