Mahogany sofa table, late 19th century, rosewood crossbanding with Greek Key boxwood stringing, canted end leaves, two frieze drawers, turned end supports joined by a double stretcher, width (closed) 111cm, depth 69cm, height 73cm.Condition report:There is obvious colour variation between the top and drop ends. One corner to the top has a split through the veneer, approximately 15cm in length. There is another triangular spliced patch repair to the veneer to the opposing corner, and another patch repair just above, Various random lengths of stringing to the outlines are missing. The vase section is very dry but is generally ok without any obvious breaks or splits to the supports or stretchers. It has the feel that it has been in outbuildings for some time. With some work it could return to being a handsome table.
