Michael Storey - Isle Of Wight Glass - Infinity Millennium Vase - An original contemporary studio art glass vase of two parts, the crizzle base and the cameo top or rim, which are fused together using the incalmo technique. The rim decorated with MM AD and gilded over the stunning body of the vase. Limited edition 14/25. Complete with certificates / paperwork. Measures: 19cm.

Germany - 239-41 - A 1960's German retro vintage fat lava studio art pottery floor vase having a mottled mustard coloured band to centre within two bands of deep orange and fat lava volcanic glaze swirls to top and bottom, the bottom and neck finished in a mottled white. Profusely decorated with gilt patterns and hand painted panels depicting figures and traditional Japanese / oriental scenes, and samurai warriors. Unknown Production - an unusual believed prop Rams head figural candlestick holder / vase. Plaster construction, being gold painted with red twist effect central column. The horns of the ram forming the legs upon which it stands. Used by Wyngarde in his home as a candlestick holder, although we do not know if this was its original purpose. Old repair to one horn. Measures approx; 29cm tall. An unusual but impressive item from the estate of Peter Wyngarde.
Estate of Peter Wyngarde; Florrie Jones - Royal Doulton - 1918 - a rare antique Royal Doulton Lambeth pottery vase of squared form. Peacock decoration to both front and rear panels, with Cherub / Putti raised decoration to each side. Impressed Doulton marks to base, and signed ' FJ '. No cracks or repairs present. Measures approx; 24cm tall.

NO RESERVE Botany.- Collaert (Adriaen) Florilegium, engraved throughout with pictorial title and 23 plates (numbered 2-24), most of several flowers, one of a vase of flowers and another of figures in a garden with quotation below, c.180 x 135mm., all trimmed to plate-mark and mounted on blank leaves, some light soiling and staining, later half cloth, rubbed, [Hunt 159; Nissen BBI 383], small 4to, [Antwerp], P.Galle, [c.1590].m⁂ "This is rather a rare little book and one quite important in the history of botanical illustration, as it is among the earliest to have engraved plates of flowers". Darwin (Erasmus) The Botanic Garden, 2 parts in 1, part 1 first edition, part 2 second edition, half-titles, engraved frontispieces and 18 plates, 5 plates and one vignette by William Blake, some offsetting and spotting, errata leaf at end, contemporary tree calf, spine gilt but lacking label, extremities worn, 1791-90; and 6 others by Erasmus Darwin, 4to and 8vo (7)⁂ The Blake plates include 4 (unsigned) of the Portland Vase.
Sale Catalogue.- [Lightfoot (John)] [Sale Catalogue] Catalogue of the Portland Museum, lately the property of the Duchess Dowager of Portland, Deceased..., catalogue numbered "843" in manuscript at foot of title, engraved frontispiece by Grignion after Burney, Mr. Skinner and Co., 1786 bound with Marked Catalogue (A) containing the Lots...which constituted the Portland Museum..., Kearsley...Sewell..., 1786, together 2 works in 1 vol., contemporary ink signature of A.Apsley at head of each title, water- and damp-stained throughout, contemporary half russia, worn, covers detached; and 2 others on the Portland Vase including a bound copy of the 1929 Christie's sale catalogue, v.s. (3)⁂ Scarce auction catalogue of the extraordinary collection assembled by the Duchess of Portland, the richest woman in Britain at the time, whose intention according to the introduction was "to have had every unknown species in the three kingdoms of nature described and published to the world". The sale consisted of over 4000 items, mostly natural history specimens and curiosities, and lasted for 38 days. The penultimate lot on day 38 was the famous cameo glass "Portland Vase" which was bought for £1029 by the Duchess's son, the 3rd Duke of Portland, who then lent it to Josiah Wedgwood to execute copies in black and white jasperware. The 6th Duke later tried to sell it at Christie's in 1929 but it failed to sell, and finally the British Museum bought it in 1945.
