An early 19th century Italian quillwork reliquary picture of Saint Donatianus: the central oval watercolour enclosed within a quillwork border of a vase with flowering shrubs from rolled paper scrolls and canes, contained in a wood frame, 20 x 24cm.* Provenance Originally donated to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, but never accessioned into the collection. Bought in 1989 by the current owner from a Hertfordshire dealer. Includes bill of sale and letter from Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
An Indo-Persian silver vase: of ovoid outline with scrolling handles to the sides, the body with cartouches decorated with palaces, enclosed by stag, flower and foliate embossed decoration, on a spreading circular foot, stamped marks to base, 39cm. high, 36.83ozs.
