An early 19th Century burr elm veneered breakfast table in the manner of George Bullock, the plain top above a plain frieze on a waisted and tapered triangular column with gadrooned base, on a tripod platform support with beaded edge, on foliate carved scroll feet to castors, 125 cm diameter x 71 cm high, together with a watercolour study of the table in a drawing room setting, signed HAROLD OAKLEY and dated '32 lower right, 21 cm x 27 cm CONDITION REPORTS Whilst basically sound, the top has much evidence of surface scratching, denting etc conducive with age and constant use. Some patches of discolouration, particularly to the centre, presumably where a vase once sat. The plain frieze with similar wear and tear. Base block with large split and several areas of staining/discolouration. Pedestal with vertical splits to two sides, platform base with several areas of splitting and minor bubbling. Wear to the beading, particularly to the extremities. Various signs of wear, damage and loss to the feet - see images for further detail. This said, the over all look of the piece is good with good colour. Arguably could benefit from sympathetic restoration/repolishing
