* Kurt Schwitters (German, 1887-1948), oil on board, vase of flowers study. 30 cm x 20 cm. Inscribed verso "Vase of flowers property of Mary Burkett, Isel Hall, Cockermouth" (see illustration). ARR CONDITION REPORT: The painting does not appear to have any repairs or restoration. The painting is on board and this board is laid onto a backing sheet. The edges of the board are a little scuffed and scratched and in our opinion the painting would benefit from being framed differently with a mount rather than laid onto something else. Other than the marks around the edges of the board the painting is in generally good condition although there are some minor surface scratches. These are evident in the bottom left hand corner, the centre bottom of the blue vase and on the right hand side a couple of inches above the signature. There are also other small surface scratches in amongst the flowers and above the flowers. These are not major and there is no significant paint loss as far as we can see. We have already made mention of the label to the rear of the piece.
A large 18th century Imari lidded vase, decorated with figures and birds in landscape and with repeating panels. Height 78 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The lid of the vase has one small problem. The knop has been broken across the narrow part and has been professionally restored. The restoration is good and only visible on very close inspection. It looks as if there has been a clean break at this point. The break is not visible from the underside. The remainder of the lid is in good order with only minor rubbing to the gilding. The base of the piece is also in extremely good condition with no damage, chips, repairs or restoration. There is some minor rubbing to the gilding.
A pair of Vienna vases, decorated with portrait panels and signed "Kiel". Height 22 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both vases have minor rubbing to the gilding. One vase is undamaged. The second vase with the lady with the less elaborate hat has been broken at the narrow point of the knop beneath the portrait. This is clearly visible. Other than this no further damage.
* An art pottery vase, with mushroom glaze over mustard body and with incised floral detail, potter's mark "JM", height 22.5 cm, and a similarly decorated cylindrical vase with similar marks, height 19 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both vases have no visible damage, no repairs and no restoration.
* Edward Hughes (1953-2006), a circular shallow saucer dish, with brown and white mottled glaze, impressed monogram to foot rim, diameter 17 cm, and a similarly glazed square section bottle vase, height 23 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The small dish is in good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The bottle vase is also in first class condition but does not bear the potters stamp.

Height 20 cm, all four pieces signed and dated and with three letters from the artist to Mary Burkett. Also a circular shallow dish inscribed "Eric James Mellon 1969 pear ash No. 1 outside blackcurrant-ash No. 1" (damaged). ARR CONDITION REPORT: The large vase is in good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. There is minor evidence of glaze crazing on the upper section of the vase and to the interior but we do not feel that this is significant. The mushroom shaped bowl is in good order with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The two smaller bowls are both in good condition also with no issues. The plate has been badly damaged and a 5 inch section of the edge has been re-glued and is in five pieces.
* An ovoid vase, with brown/black detail, inscribed "J(?) in green to foot. Height 24 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This vase is in generally good order with no major damage, repairs or restoration. A pair of Royal Worcester vases, handpainted with roses, each signed "C.V. White", green printed mark. Height 27 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both vases have issues. One has a substantial square shaped break all across the pattern running for approximately 5 inches square. It looks as if a section of the vase has actually been out and glued back in. There are two hairline cracks emanating from this large area of damage. The second vase is in generally much better condition but does have professional restoration to the neck and lip. Both have some minor scratches to the patterns.
A Chinese blue and white vase, of squat baluster form, with repeating foliate decoration in blue and white. Height 22 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vase is in generally good condition. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. There is some rubbing to the glaze around the top rim and a firing mark to the inside bottom edge of the base but no significant issues with the lot.
A Faience frog vase, turquoise. Height 23 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The frog has had some professional restoration to the front facing right hand arm. There has been a break and overpainting on the arm. It also looks as if the front left hand foot has been broken and reattached but again this is a professional repair. If you look carefully at the right hand facing arm the colouring is slightly darker than the left indicating the overpainting.
An Emile Galle Nancy cameo glass vase, brown overlaid with fruiting foliage against a yellow ground, signed "Galle". Height 16 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This vase does not have any significant defects. The piece is signed "Galle". There are no repairs and no restoration. There are no significant scratches and only minor surface marks commensurate with the age of the piece. There is some minor purple pigmentation to the neck opposite the flowers however this is simply part of the firing process. We do not feel that the piece has been shortened.
A Chinese blue and white club shaped vase, with brown top lip and raised on a pierced wooden base. Overall height 28.5 cm.
