A pair of Japanese Satsuma pottery baluster vases, H31cmThe vases are in overall good condition. Vase 1- there is a small chip approx 1cm around the rim of the vase, and subsequently as a result there is a hairline crack approx 3cm running down the lip of the vase, there is some crazing to the vase, some general surface scratching and marking consistent with age and use, and there is a very small hairline crack again on the lip of the vase opposite the larger crack. Vase 2 - again there is some crazing to the vase, both handles appear to be cracking, although unclear whether this has been repaired

A large Walter Moorcroft Trial 'Rock of Ages' vase, dated 1999, later to become an edition of 50 in this size, painted and impressed marks,37cm high (chipped with associated cracks). Boxed.Provenance: The Peter Richards' Collection. Sold together with a Moorcroft Collector's Club letter congratulating the vendor for winning this Trial vase in a prize draw at the Christmas Open Weekend and a letter from Walter Moorcroft describing the process and inspiration for this vase. Sadly, the vase has had some sort of impact or fall damage near the rim, with a loss of glaze and associated star cracks. Ripe for professional restoration.
