The vase is generally a good colour and the condition of the outer surface is also very good. The vase may have had a porcelain or wooden lid when originally made as the very top of the rim is not glaze. It is however interesting the pattern goes up to the rim top and would otherwise be covered by a lid. We will never know.

This has been glued. It is approximately 2 cm in length and 1 cm tall. Opposite this there is a small loss at the same point of approximately 1 cm square. When the pot is held up to the light there are holes in the body. This is part of the firing process rather than damage. Other than the damage referred to we can see no further issues.
A Meissen style ice pail, crossed swords mark to base. Width 22 cm, height 26 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The bucket appears to have had some overpainting to the interior. There may also be some restoration to the rim in the same area. The overpainting to the interior has discoloured and is clearly visible. There may also be some restoration to the left hand side of the gilt scroll in the latticework and edge above the centre birds head. The gilding to the rim is generally rubbed. Other than the restoration already mentioned the remainder of the vase appears to be in good order with only minor surface blemishes and rubbing to the gilding around the centre and the foot rim. There is a chip to the underside edge of the base. The piece is second quality.
