A pair of Chinese famille rose fencai inscribed vases, mid 19th century, each well painted with scholars and attendants in a landscape scene with pavilions, rocks and a junk boat on a river, inscribed to the neck with a ten column poem, pseudo Hongwu iron red seal mark to base, 45cm high, cracks to neck of one vase**CONDITION REPORT**Both vases with some wear to the gilding around the rims. One of the vases has a small splinter chip to the rim which has been re-glued and some associated hairline cracks to the glaze around the neck. A pair of large Chinese painted terracotta wine jars and covers, fanghu, Han dynasty, the grey pottery vessels with traces of red, white and violet pigment decoration, 56cm high, one replacement cover and small losses**CONDITION REPORT**Both heavily encrusted with dirt with some remnants of polychrome decoration to the exterior. Evidence of some old cracks near the neck and the bases, possibly restored but difficult to say where it might be as the vase sells encrusted with mud. A good Chinese hongmu ‘dragon’ throne armchair, c.1900, carved in high relief and open work with confronting dragons and bats amid foliage to the back, with chilong uprights, the dragon shaped arms with flower vase, bat and dragon supports, the frieze carved with fruiting vines, the legs with peonies above claw and ball feet, 114.5cm high, 68cm wide at the arms**CONDITION REPORT**Three small losses to the horns on the dragon handle of the right arm, and a tooth of the dragon on the left handle. A Chinese hongmu or huanghuali jade mounted cover, 18th/19th century the inset pale celadon jade star shaped plaque carved and pierced with two boys holding a vase, 4.9cm across, the sides of the cover carved in relief with bats biting a peach branch, 6cm high, 7.3cm diameter**CONDITION REPORT**The Jade Clarke appears to be in good condition, but has been fixed in place to the cover so we are unable to examine the back of the carving. A pair of English porcelain Sevres style ormolu mounted vases and covers, mid 19th century, each finely painted with portraits of ladies, monograms and floral bouquets within cobalt blue and gilt decorated borders, one cover with interlaced L’s and crescent mark, 44cm high, one replacement cover**CONDITION REPORT**Both vases and covers are grubby in places, have slight wear to the gilding, tarnish to the ormolu and some occasional fritting to the cobalt blue ground notably round the bottom of the vases above the pedestal foot. The handles to each vase are ormolu and each vase has one loose handle. A pair of Minton Sevres style vases and covers, mid 19th century, each finely painted with floral bouquets to oval reserves within raised gilt decorated borders on a bleu celeste ground, one cover with ermine mark inside, 41cm high, one cover restored**CONDITION REPORT**Both vases with some minor black speckling to the gilding around the neck. The first vase has some discoloured restoration to the gilding on one of the handles and to the edge of the cover, with some crazing to the glaze on the pedestal foot. The second vase has a heavily restored cover which is not a perfect fit, some occasional small speckles of white emulsion paint which will remove with a thumbnail. One of the flower reserves has a small firing crack across it which the Minton painter has cleverly overpainted with tendrils. A pair of Japanese cloisonné enamel vases, early 20th century, each decorated with birds amid blossom and flowers, on an apple green ground, circle and three rings mark to base, possibly Ando, 21.3cm high, one damaged**CONDITION REPORT**The first vase has a dented rim with some enamel loss to the border beneath it and to the blue enamel on the interior of the neck and is missing the applied foot rim. The second vase has wear to the silver plating on the top and bottom rims, some occasional small white speckles of emulsion paint which come off with a thumbnail, otherwise in good condition.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. A Chinese famille verte ‘Four Beauties’ vase, Kangxi period, the four ladies seated at a table with objects in a pavilion garden landscape, underglaze blue double circle to base, 41.5cm high, neck damaged**CONDITION REPORT**The neck has been broken and messily re-glued, with one section missing and some splinter losses around the area. There is a splinter chip to the edge of the foot. Some wear to the black enamel on the figures of the ladies and to the blue enamels all over. Occasional scratching to the glaze and other enamel colours. The two pieces you have will end up as  medium in size as my intention is to double the scale.
