Antoinette Holland (Dutch, 1921 - 2011) Still life with cut flowers in vase, oil on board, signed and dated 1992, 37.5 x 44 cm, framed Notes Antoinette Holland Haggenburg was born in Arnhem, Holland, she was the second of thirteen brothers and sisters. Her father was the headmaster of the local school. Antoinette began painting at the age of nine, inspired by her grandfather who was also an artist. She spent many hours painting and drawing with her grandfather, he was her first teacher. Painting was Antoinette's passion, during her life, she painted more than a thousand oil paintings. 1938 - 1943 Academy of Art and Design, Arnhem, Holland 1947 Antoinette travelled to England to learn English and then on to South Africa 1957 Married Alexander Holland and moved to Tunbridge Wells 1959 Birth of daughter Rosalind 1965 - 1973 Attended art classes at the Adult Education Centre, Tunbridge Wells. A 19th Century Staffordshire spaniel together with a 19th Century cut glass spirit decanter and stopper, Victorian Shaft and globe decanter (both chipped), Chinese soapstone carving of an immortal (chipped), Caithness paperweights 'Seaform' and 'Energize' 131/750, a pair of 19th Century style cast brass spaniel fire dogs and a cut glass vase.
Two boxes of glassware, to include: a pair of cranberry and white glass Victorian table lustres (AF), a vaseline vase, Victorian threaded glass, Murano-style glass vases, Carnival glass and other items. Condition Report: Table lustres 25cm tall. One lustre has broken base with missing parts. Wear to gilding on both. Drops missing, chips on both.
A decorative pair of ormolu and green marble table lamps, the central column of vase shape surmounted by putti and floral swags, the rectangular marble base supported on four rococo-style supports (81cm tall) to include shade. Condition Report: Condition generally good. Age related wear and minor cracks to ormolu in places.
