‡ MARCEL GOUPY (FRENCH 1886-1980), AN ENAMELLED GLASS FLARED VASE CIRCA 1925 Decorated in the cloisonné manner with three panels of exotic Eastern dancers, script black signature, 18cm highMarcel Goupy (France, 1886-1954), originally trained as an architect at the l'Ecole des Arts décoratifs in Paris. However, he is probably best known for his designs for glass and ceramics. In 1909, he started to produce designs for Georges Rouard at Gallerie Rouard, 34 Avenue de l'Opera, Paris. This was the luxury goods store A La Paix, where artists such as Maurice Marinot, Henri Navarre and other notables supplied designs. Goupy also supplied designs to the Haviland factory in Limoges. It is thought he started to work with enamelled glass in 1914. Condition Report: Some wear to base. Slight rubbing to the everted rim. A little surface wear, note white enamel torsos. A SELECTION OF WORCESTER BLUE-SCALE GROUND PORCELAIN CIRCA 1775 To Include an ovoid vase, 20cm high, and a pair of oval baskets and covers, approximately 17cm wide, etc. Mostly blue fretted-square marks Condition Report: Ovoid vase restored to neck, possibly with a made up section. Scalloped border plate with firing fault. Slight surface scratches to teapot stand and the two 22.5cm plates have knife scratches.
