CONDITION REPORT Enamel in overall good condition to blue vases, there is some pitting to the floral enamel ware, one vase has an area approx 2cm of damage to the blue ground enamelthe pair of boxed cloisonné vases appear to be in good condition

A Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma vase with richly decorated abstract and scenic panels to the neck, above medallions of hand painted and gilt-heightened scenes, to include Japanese ruler with geishas, Samurai warrior with young lady attendants against a background of flowing water and mountain scenes, panels in between of hunting birds among prunus, height 26cm. Provenance: Part of the Paul Lightfoot Collection. CONDITION REPORT The vase has overall age-related wear in the form of some areas of slight discolouration, but the general overall condition appears to be good. The colours and the gilding are bright and clear. There is one area of repair to the base of one of the panels - it appears as though there was a hole in the vase, which has been repaired with the sympathetic Japanese kintsugi method of using gold paint to enhance the piece and as a philosophy treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

A Japanese Satsuma vase of tapering form, painted with Samurai warriors within a garden landscape opposed by a panel of women and children in traditional clothes, within blue and gilt frames, four character signature to base, height 15cm, together with another similar slender tapering vase, with Samurai warriors on one panel opposed by women and children on the other, three character mark to base, height 16cm (af) (2). CONDITION REPORT One vase has an area approx 2 x 1 cm broken to the base, it has been re-glued, some small pieces missing, could be repaired more sympathetically, some loss of gilding to the rim of both, no other apparent damage or restoration

A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese porcelain ginger jar in the Famille Rose palette, with figural and scenic decoration in vibrant enamels, figures pulling a small handcart, carrying large vase filled with chrysanthemums, cherry blossom, prunus and others, verso a scenic mountainous view with butterflies and bugs, beneath a band of sky blue and chrysanthemums, red character marks to base, height 19cm.Provenance: Part of the Paul Lightfoot Collection. CONDITION REPORT There is some age-related wear, the cover of the ginger jar has had quite a large chip to one side and has been repaired, but could be repaired more sympathetically. This has resulted in a crack to the top of the ginger jar, but again this has been repaired. There are no other obvious signs of restoration or damage.

A pair of Japanese Meiji Period baluster vases, with varicoloured drip glaze to the necks and part way down the bodies, in vibrant reds, blues and amber, above a scene of village houses, prunus trees, rocks and figures in snowy winter scene to either side and black and red character marks and seals between, height of each 28cm (2).Provenance: Part of the Paul Lightfoot Collection. CONDITION REPORT Overall crackle to the glaze, but this does not detract from the integrity of the vase. There appears to be an old terracotta seal mark to the top of the body of one of the vases. There is age-related wear in the form of slight discolouration and marks to each vase and there appears to be a hairline crack, or possibly a crack to the glaze on one of the vases. No obvious signs of restoration.

A quantity of modern Chinese wares comprising a lacquered covered lazy Susan, cloisonné wares to include five pairs of vases, the largest depicting cherry blossoms and butterflies on a cream ground, with wooden stands in a box, a single cloisonné vase depicting chrysanthemums on a brown ground, two pairs of cloisonné napkin rings, ceramics to include nine various bowls, a model of an elephant, a figure of a Chinese gentleman seated cross-legged on the ground, a model of a sage riding a buffalo and a boxed octagonal bowl.

A late 19th early 20th century silver-plated epergne with etched glass trumpet form vase to the centre on baluster form column, with foliate and rococo style C scroll open-work decoration on a domed and beaded base raised on three scroll cabriole feet, stamped to base M1530, height 40cm, and a modern silver-plated four branch epergne with flared trumpet form vases on scroll supports, on a base raised on three ball feet, height 40cm, John Turton & Co Ltd, Sheffield (2). CONDITION REPORT Some scratches to the glass trumpet vase, mainly where it fits into the stand. Some age-related wear to the plate in the form of surface scratches, small areas of thinning plate, no obvious signs of restoration. The second epergne has age-related wear in the form of surface scratches, small areas where plate has thinned, no obvious signs of restoration.
