First vase - short descending hairline crack in the neck otherwise fine. Second vase - in fine condition. No restoration to either vase. NB on the base of the second vase is a fragment of the original printed Linthorpe paper label inscribed ? - 9/-

A garniture of Derby vases, of campana shape with gilt handles, painted to either side with bouquets of flowers and gilt sprays reserved on an apple green ground, the borders and rims gilt, 23 and 17cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, painted crown, crossed batons, D and gilder's no. 19, c1820 (3). Old restoration to each vase which is fairly extensive and has now rather discoloured somewhat but has, surprisingly, not detracted from the overall appearance. A couple of small spots of flaking to one of the smaller vases, the other smaller vase presumably marked as described but the underside of the base has been completely re-painted in a rather glutinous white paint. On this vase there is some considerable rubbing of the gilding on one of the handles.

A Derby vase of campana shape, painted possibly by Robert Brewer with an octagonal gilt framed panel of shipping in an estuary reserved on a blue ground richly gilt and painted in puce with trompe l'oeil designs of leaves and grapes, the lower part with trailing vines, on flared foot, 14cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, unmarked, c1825 . Some rubbing to the gilding where handled; one handle restored.

A Chelsea Derby pot pourri vase and cover, possibly modelled by John Bacon, the claret ground oviform vase supported by three urns encrusted with festoons, on three lion monopodiae and a drum shaped pedestal painted with trophies en grisaille and gilt, the high domed cover with flower-mound finial, 28cm h, William Duesbury & Co, patch marks, c1770-75. Old restoration to one of the loop handles; some typical minor chipping of the floral encrustation, some old discoloured restoration to the cover. (See lot 216 for illustration).

A Derby frill vase and cover, pierced with trellis studded with turquoise florets above mask handles emerging from flowers and further encrusted with colourful blooms borne on green and turquoise leaves interspersed with insects, the lower body skirted with green and yellow leaves, the domed cover with flower knop, 23cm h, William Duesbury & Co, patch marks, c1765. Some typical faults to the encrusted decoration but a good example of the type if in anything above average condition. Three vertical firing cracks in the flange of the cover (See lot 216 for illustration).

A pair of Crown Derby two handled oviform vases and covers, decorated in red and green-tinted, raised gilding, the naturalistic designs of passion flowers, lilies and other flowers and tendrils on a cobalt ground, the conforming shoulder and foot moulded in shallow relief with trailing flowers and having scaley handles, 30cm h, incised 680, printed mark, date code for 1889. First vase - minor star cracks in the base. Cover - vertical hairline crack. Second vase - minor rubbing to the gilding on the inside of the rim caused by the seating of the cover, faint hairline crack in the base. No restoration to either vase or cover (See lot 243 for illustration).

Some slight discoloration of the glaze where it has crazed on the interior and around the foot joint also some very minor rubbing of the gilding. Several noticeable spots of flaking to the enamels on the central panel painting of flowers in a basket which would benefit from being touched-in.
