IX, S. 27, 6, Nagler, Die Monogrammisten, II, 1023, Nr. 6.Der Monogrammist wurde von Nagler - und entgegen Bartsch - in die 'Schule des Marc Antonio' eingeordnet. Es kann jedoch kein Zweifel daran bestehen, dass der Stecher engste Beziehungen zu den Nürnberger Kleinmeistern, besonders zu Georg Pencz pflegt, an dessen Naturauffassung und besonders Sticheltechnik er sich orientiert. Ganz ausgezeichneter Druck meist an die Facette geschnitten. Lediglich geringe Gebrauchsspuren, links etwas fleckig zum Rand hin, sonst sehr gut erhalten. Doublette aus der Graphischen Sammlung der Albertina, Wien (Lugt 5e und 5h). Ganz ausgezeichneter, teils samtener Druck mit dezenten vertikalen Wischkritzeln, auf die Darstellung geschnitten, teils leicht knapp, links partiell mit Spuren eines Rändchens um die Einfassungslinie. Etwas angestaubt und leicht fleckig, vertikale Quetschfalte, verso kleine Montierungsreste, minimale Altersspuren, sonst sehr gut erhalten. Mit der Adresse von Remondini, vor den Nummern. Ausgezeichneter, kräftiger Druck mit sehr feinem Rändchen um die Plattenkante, rechts bis an diese geschnitten. Schwach fleckig, eine dünne Stelle, sonst sehr gut erhalten. Beigegeben von Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione vier Radierungen: Die Auferweckung das Lazarus (B. 6), Die Auffindung der Leichname der hll. Vico, Enea - nach -- nach. Lapithen im Kampf gegen die Kentauren, die Hippodameia rauben wollen. Radierung und Kupferstich nach Rosso Fiorentino. 28,1 x 42,2 cm. Um 1542. B. XV, S. 297, 30, copie A. Wz. Initial J mit Kreuz. Die Radierung geht zurück auf ein Fresko desselben Sujets, das Rosso Fiorentino für die Galerie François I. in Fontainebleau ausführte. Bartsch identifizierte die dargestellte Szene als den Kampf zwischen den Lapithen und den Kentauren. Obgleich die Szene ein durch einen Kampf unterbrochenes Bankett zeigt, so sind dennoch keine Kentauren dargestellt; Vasari nahm an, dass es sich um den Raub der Helena von Troja handelt. Laut Bartsch ist die vorliegende gleichseitige Wiederholung als qualitativ hochwertiger zu erachten als das Original von Vico selbst. - Ganz ausgezeichneter Druck mit teils sehr feinem Rändchen um die Einfassungslinie, rechts partiell bis an die Darstellung. Leichte vertikale Mittelfalte, umlaufend marginale Randläsuren, minimal nur fleckig, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
