A Chinese yellow glazed, miniature bottle vase, the globular body decorated Shou character roundels in black and turquoise against a background of stylised lotus with tendrils of foliage, the waisted neck repeated with similar decoration between ru-i head borders, around the base a broad band of palmate motifs, late 19th century Guangxu. Height 15cm. Condition report: Gilt rubbed on lip, otherwise in good condition with no apparent cracks or chips.

A Japanese Kutani vase of baluster form with a waisted neck supporting a broad rimmed, fluted edged, floral decorated mouth, the body decorated with two framed panels depicting a standing gentleman and a seated courtesan against a background of a panelled fence and flowers behind a hanging blind, above two smaller panels with dwellings and landscapes, all on a ground of scattered flowers foliage and birds. Mid Meiji period. Height 28cm.

The cabinet imitates books.The cabinet has two fitted drawers, in the top drawer are two carvings.A Chinese Ming style carving of a recumbent goat looking over its left flank at it's kid, each has a lotus flower in it's mouth in white jade with hints of russet, 18th century or earlier, length 6cm, on fine wood stand pierced and carved as ling chih fungus sprays.The second a Chinese greenish white Vajra with the face of Vajradhara, length 9.5cm. The lower drawer holds a Chinese white jade vase carved as a slender four petaled flower emerging from a flowering shrub forming a base and carved and pierced as flowers and branches in relief.18th/19th century, height 11.5cm.Cabinet size height 15cm, depth 15cm, width 12.2cm.Note: We translate the tablet as follows Chang Chun Ko Chen Wan from which a possible reading is ' A precious trinket from the large Spring Pavillion' Condition report: There are no apparent condition issues with any element of this lot.
A Japanese bronze pear shaped two handled vase with waisted trumpet mouthed neck, the ovoid body decorated in relief with two birds in flight framed by two flowering plants, the foot with an added Chinese bronze mirror decorated a four character zhuanshu style commendation seal encircled on four sides with four Chinese characters reading Xuande nian zhi and framed by two guardians Chi-lin dragons, mid Meiji period, height 42cm, width 24cm.
A Chinese monochrome pear shaped vase decorated with an all over flambe glaze, the foot with a brownish wash, the waisted neck supporting a wide trumpet mouth, the latter adorned with a later all over silver mount intruding into the mouth, this exceptional mount is finely engraved with chrysanthemum flowers amidst scrolling foliage and tendrils, the interior section formed as ten palmate panels engraved with stylised lotus and fronds. Paper label to base. Late 18th century. Height 41cm. Condition report: Some fine scratches to red glaze throughout vase, some small firing faults, engraved mount crisp, star hairline crack to foot.
