A Bretby jardiniere in the Orientalist taste - the globular vessel with slightly flared upright neck and short foot, in yellow glaze with painted decoration of birds perched upon branches of prunus blossom, enriched with gilt, impressed factory marks and shape no. 1942E, 17cm. high, crack to rim; together with a Navajo pottery vase, of bellied, bun form, painted in shades of blue, white and black with a horse and teepee in a mountainous landscape, an abstract band beneath, incised and painted marks to base, 10.8cm. high. An unusual Modernist burnt glass vase - signed to the base with monogram 'AN', of tapering, circular form, the textured, burnt finish to the exterior shading from dark-green and brown to russet-red, ochre, pale-green and blue, with steel insert to the neck rim. (13.5 cm high, 23.5 cm in diameter).

An Oriental ceramic group of five: 1. an 18th century Chinese circular porcelain tea bowl, the exterior decorated in underglaze blue with scrolling lotus (9.5 cm in diameter). 2. a light-green glazed Chinese pottery vase cover modelled as an open-winged bird astride a dome with four lower pierced lugs, qingbai glaze, China, Song Dynasty (969-1279) (14.5 cm high). 3. a 19th century green glazed miniature vase decorated with leaves in low relief above a Ming-style lappet border. 4. a double gourd-shaped vase or snuff bottle. 5. a Chinese Canton pot (5) * Condition: - Tea bowl: 4cm crack from rim and another L-shaped hairline. Small rim chip. - Bird vase cover: Several small chips from lower edge of rim. No other faults. - Miniature vase: Chip and crack to rim. Small chip to foot. - Double gourd miniature vase: Crack around the upper and lower section of vase. Minor enamel wear.
