A WEDGWOOD DRAGON LUSTRE VASE, 1920s, of pear shape with tall cylindrical neck, decorated in gilding with a dragon, flaming pearls and clouds on a blue pearlescent ground within gilt key-fret borders, printed Portland vase mark in gilding, number 40, 30cm high. See illustration
A ROYAL WORCESTER LOTUS CANDLESTICK, the base in the form of a down-turned lotus flower, applied with a small frog, printed marks in puce, including date cypher for 1906, pattern number 1088 and registration number 27580, 11.5cm high, together with a Royal Worcester flower vase in the form of a hand holding a rhyton with ram's head terminal, printed mark in green, including date cypher for 1900, 17.5cm high (2)
A DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE JUG, by Harriet E Hibbert, 1878, moulded with bands of florettes picked out in blue, green and brown glazes, impressed and incised marks, 16.3cm high, a lobed ovoid Doulton Lambeth vase with scroll and foliate panels, impressed mark and incised signature MT, attributed to Mary M Thompson, 16cm, and a beaker by Eliza Simmance (damaged), 14cm (3)
A large 19th century Cantonese vase, decorated in typical Canton colours with panels of figures. Height 64 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The vase has had restoration to the top rim. There is evidence of overspray to the inside lip of the vase and also the underside edge. There has been some overpainting. The vase is not soft to touch and it is likely that this overspray simply covers a repair to a break. Both handles are in good order as is the main body of the vase. There are no cracks to the base.
A pair of Royal Dux porcelain sweetmeat baskets, decorated in typical Dux colours, with impressed numbers "2279/9" and "2280/9" and triangular mark. Height 23 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The basket with the girl has one very small chip to the bottom outside edge of the front facing plait. This is just a glaze chip. Both baskets have small firing marks where the rear of the handle meets the base of the basket. Neither vase has any repairs or restorations
A pair of 19th century Chinese blue and white Kangxi vases. Height 41 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both vases are in very good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. One vase has very little glaze crazing. The second vase has numerous vertical line crazing to the main body of the vase. This is only visible on close inspection. The height of each vase is 41 cm as stated in the description, the diameter is approximately 17 cm.
A Chinese bronze censor, diameter 12.5 cm, and a vase and plaque. CONDITION REPORT: The vase and plaque are in good order with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The censor may have an old repair to the top of one leg, this however may simply be part of the original construction, there does appear to be some form of solder around the leg. Other than this the piece is in very good condition.
A pair of 19th century Cloisonne vases, decorated with floral motifs. Height 43 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both vases are in good condition with no visible damage, repairs or restoration. The only minor visible issue is that the joins around the top of each vase are visible as is the interior seam to the brasswork. In our opinion this is not problematic.
A 19th century Irish hob cut glass vase and cover. Height 31 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are no repairs and no restoration. The lid is in generally good condition with only very minor edge nibbles to the outer edge of the rim. The castellated top around the vase has several small losses and chips. There are approximately six of these which are visible on close inspection.
A small Moorcroft "Field of Gold" vase, 2010. Height 10.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Extremely good condition with no damage, repairs or restoration. A very minor fault is some running to the green glaze on the initials “Moorcroft, England” and Umbrella mark on the underside edge of the base. First quality.
A Moorcroft Poinsettia vase with lid, Emma Bossons, signed and dated 2003. Height 23 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: First quality. No chips, cracks or restoration. There is a craze line to the base of one of the handles approximately 3 cm in length. There are also a couple of craze lines radiating from the centre of the lid approximately 2 cm in length.
A Moorcroft Poppy ginger jar, 1996. Height 16 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Marked as a second. To the rim of the lid there is a small firing fault which is a graze which appears to have been over glazed. The lid has been attached with Sellotape so there are the remains of this to the top & bottom. Other than this it is in good order. The vase is marked as a second.
Three Moorcroft miniatures, Cornflower pill bowl, and Pomegranate lidded ginger jar, all boxed. CONDITION REPORT: The cornflower pill box has a small blemish to the lid near the hinge approximately 1 mm in length, you can feel this when you run your finger nail over the top of it. There is also another to the bottom section to the rear of the hinge which is approximately 2 mm in length. The harvest vase is in good order with no signs of chips, cracks or restoration. The pomegranate ginger jar is in very good order, although there is a line through the signature W Moorcroft I can see no reason why this would be a second.
A pair of Edwardian mahogany Bergere elbow chairs, in the Adam style, raised on turned tapered fluted front legs. CONDITION REPORT: One chair is structurally very sound with no loose joints and no problems with the frames. The other chair is also generally in good order but there has been a break just below the bottom vase turning on the right hand facing arm. The arm is secure but the break is visible. The canework is in our opinion original. Both backs are fairly tight and have very minimal breaks to individual strands of cane. They are serviceable. The Bergere to the seat of the chair with the damage arm is in generally good condition and is tight at the edges. There are minimal breaks. The cane has stretched and when pressed in the centre from underneath can be pushed upwards by approximately 3 cm. The second chair seat is in slightly less good condition. It is serviceable but there are approximately eight breaks to individual strands of cane along the front edge. Again there is the same amount of travel from the centre of the seat when pressed from underneath.
A pair of Coalport Coalbrookdale vases, floral encrusted, each with lid. Height 22 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vases are in generally good condition. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. Clearly floral encrusted vases of this nature are prone to chipping. Both vases do have chips but they are minimal and there are no serious areas of damage to any of the floral encrustations. The lid to vase one has three very small nibbles to the top rows. The body of the vase has a further six very small losses to petal edges but no real issues. Vase two has one very small nibble to the rose on the lid. The main body of the vase has very little damage but there are two flowers that have both lost most of one petal. There are one or two further very minor nibbles.
A Copeland cherub figure, holding aloft a torch, blue, white and gilt. Height 37.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This item is in generally very good condition. There is no evidence of any damage, repairs or restoration. The only minor fault is that there are some small areas that are discoloured. There is one small brown patch on the arm and two underneath the facing wrist. There are three small brown patches on the face and one to the inside of the vase top. These are all like foxing marks on a picture.
A LARGE ORIENTAL CERAMIC VASE probably Japanese Meiji period, of spherical form with elongated neck applied with tube handles, polychrome enamelled decoration of a bird feeding her young on a blossoming branch, underglaze blue painted character marks to base, 33cm high
