The present pair are thought to have been executed at a time when the artist was commissioned to paint the various members at the court of Christian VII. Gentleman - slight paint loss by the right edge, opposite the sitter's neck. Lady - some staining above the vase. A small scuff by the top left edge, opposite the sitter's wig.
