A pair of Chinese porcelain Famille Rose black ground large lidded vases. early 19th century, each with two oval panels decorated with peonies and other flowers on stylised rockwork in blue, the bodies of the gourd shaped vases with a noir ground randomly decorated with peonies below a broad, shaped collar from the neck to shoulder of iron red tight spirals superimposed with other flowers in the famille rose palette, the domed covers with lotus bud finials, the rim of one cover matching the body background and the other with a red diaper pattern matching the narrow band below the neck of each vase, both approximately 15½in. (40cm.) high. (2).
A good 19th century Kashan vase design rug. the central vase design on a dark blue ground with an overall pattern of flowering shrubs and trees, the broad border with meander pattern interspersed with lotus buds and other flowers on a deep red ground, 67½ x 43in. (171.5 x 119.25cm.), no fringes, a 3.5cm. hole towards one end.
