New Kingdom, Reign of Akhenaton, Ca. 1352 - 1336 BC.A pottery jar with a tall flaring neck and biconical body, with thee distinct registers divided by multi-coloured bands. Each register has repeating floral motifs, including rosette petals and sycamore trees surrounding a motif of an eye, with black outlines. Underneath, three inscribed nefer hieroglph and four Was-scepters. This vase is similar to artistic depictions of the same motifs from the Amarna-period tomb-chapel of Nebamun which depicts the wealthy official and his wife in the marshes along the banks of the Nile with naturalistic fauna and flora. This vase is similar to artistic depictions of the same motifs from the Amarna-period tomb-chapel of Nebamun which depicts the wealthy official and his wife in the marshes along the banks of the Nile with naturalistic fauna and flora.
