AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF TIBETAN OR NEPALESE POLISHED BRONZE JOSS STICK HOLDERS, 19th Century or earlier, each cast in the form of a Buddhistic lion standing on a pierced rectangular plinth and supporting a vase upon its back, the eyes of each inlaid in turquoise, the rear rim of each base with an engraved inscription, 7.5in high.
A GOOD LARGE PAIR OF FINE QUALITY SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD IVORY TUSK VASES, on fitted revolving top wood stands, each vase finely carved with a detailed continuous scene of villagers engaged in various work and activities, each vase carved to its side with a seal mark, 19.25in high overall, the tusk vases themselves 10.5in high.
A LARGE PAIR OF GOOD QUALITY JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD IVORY TUSK VASES, together with fitted wood stands, the ivory itself weighing approx. 1.61Kg, each vase well carved with a continuous scene of villagers engaged in various pursuits, 11.3in & 11.5in high overall, the ivory vases themselves 10.4in high.
