(9.9cm.) diameter, 2 1/8in. (5.4cm.) high; together with a miniature twin handle open-work basket and a bud vase, in the same pattern, blue painted marks to bases. (3)

An 18th century Dutch Delft charger, painted with a large shallow vase of flowers and fern leaves, within a border of fruit, foliate and scrolls, 14in. (35.5cm.) diameter; together with a Delft inverted baluster vase by Johannes Van Duijn, signed, lacks cover, 9in. (22.8cm.) high; and four Delft plates, one probably English, faults. (6)* - Charger: Glaze flaking to rim and one small chip. Some glaze scratching to well.- Vase: Glaze flaking to rim and base. Otherwise good.- Pair of plates: Extensive glaze loss to rim on both. No other damage.- Lake landscape plate: Large crack to rim and several rim chips.- Poss. English plate: 4in. crack from rim and large rim chip.   

Lot 1468

A Chinese patinated bronze two handled vase, probably 19th century, deep red brown patination, copper-brown patinated interior to neck, cast with pairs of dragons and flaming pearls, the neck and base with lappets enclosing foliage and the base with scale border, the shoulder with archaic style elephant handles, 14in. (35.5cm.) high, faults to patination. * Both sides of the body have heavily rubbed / polished areas to the patination. The joint between the neck and body is loose and the neck can be lifted away from the body a little. Small dent to footrim and there is a rough area to the casting above this which has a hole through the bronze.

Kate Wylie (Scottish, 1877-1941), Still life of auriculas in a vase oil on canvas, signed lower right 11¼ x 8¼in. (28.5 x 21cm.)* Provenance: Fraser & Son, Dundee, label verso* Condition: Strengthening and retouching is visible under UV to the shadow around the lower edge of the vase. Also, additions to the top left leaf visible under UV. These have a more matted appearance to the varnish than the remainder of the picture when viewed with light reflecting on the surface of the paint. The board is flat with no warping.

A Chinese Imari decorated baluster vase, probably Kangxi period (1662-1722), decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and painted iron red and gilt with two phoenix amidst flowers and foliage, the slightly tapered neck with petal collar, the rim with a foliate cast gilt metal mount, 7½in. (19cm.) high. * The gilt metal mount glued in place - does not appear to be covering any damage as the inside of the neck is visible. Small glaze chip to foot and small chip to foot, which appears to have occurred during manufacture.

A 19th century Staffordshire Pottery advertising shop window spill vase cow, fashioned chained to a tree stump with thistle, the oval base stamped 'MILK . SOLD . HERE', 14in. (35.6cm.).* General crazing and rubbing as usual, chip to left horn which has been smoothed and painted over, small graze to top right of vase,  overall good.

A Chinese famille verte porcelain rouleau vase, probably 19th century, enamelled with scholars in a garden, the sun and clouds above to the neck, 9 1/8in. (23.2cm.) high, glaze scratching throughout. * No chips or cracks. The glaze has extensive scratching throughout. The rim has a fairly crude gilt painted line, which could be later.

(22.2cm.) high, chip to rim. * Small chip to rim. Otherwise gilt, with some gilt wear.

A Chinese Canton carved ivory puzzle ball, late 19th / early 20th century, the ten layer ball carved to the outside with flowers and foliage, 2½in. (6.3cm.) diameter, on a pierced, trumpet vase style stand, 8in. (20.25cm.) high; together with two Canton carved and pierced ivory dragon vases on carved hardwood stands, the vases 3in. (7.6cm.) high. (3) * - Puzzle Ball: The ball in good condition with no faults. The stand has a shallow chip to the top of the pierced basket section, where it joins the cupped top. Plus another tiny chip to the turned line decoration just below the cupped top. - Vases: One has a split to lower edge and three other tiny hairlines to lower edge. The other vase in good condition. Glued repair to one stand.

Lot 1469

A Chinese patinated bronze two handled hu vase, probably 18th/19th century, with apocryphal Xuande six character mark to base, red brown patination, the slightly tapered square neck with square rim and two elephant handles, each side with a shaped reserve, two with figures in mountain landscapes, the other two with diaper work, the body with a band of keywork with archaic dragons, the flared foot with key work decoration, 12¼in. (31.2cm.) high. * Good patina overall - interior has general dirt and residue from use as a vase over many years. The base has old (probably early 20th century) putty pushed into the seam between the body and base, presumably in an attempt to seal tiny holes in the past when it was used as a vase and leaked water. There is a small spot of creamy coloured residue on the surface of the bronze in the dragon keywork band, and there is a larger, fainter patch of verdigris to the surface of the bronze on the foot, just above the keywork band - this is very old and there is a small flake from the surface of the metal here. No other damage to bronze.

A very large Loetz 'Richard' cameo glass vase, of elongated teardrop form with a bun form foot, dark purple on orange streaked ground, decorated with a village beside a lake, signed 'Richard', 23½in. (59.5cm.) high, glued chip to rim.

Two Chinese porcelain blue and white covered baluster vases, both with four character Kangxi marks but later, probably 19th century, one painted with alternate panels with figures in fenced gardens and birds on flowering branches, the domed cover with Kylin finial, 9½in. (24.1cm.) high; and a larger vase painted with pheasants on rocky outcrops amidst flowering plants, on a blue prunus ground, the domed cover with kylin finial, 12¼in. (31cm.) high, repair and chip to rim; together with two blue & white vase covers. (4) * - Bird & figure vase: Vase good with one small glaze frit to rim. Cover with several chips to edge. - Pheasants vase: Chip and stapled repair to rim. Glaze chip to edge of cover. - Cover with pointed finial: Glaze flaking and a few tiny chips to edge. - Kylin cover: Several glaze chips to edge.

Lot 1433

A Chinese celadon glazed porcelain vase, with incised Chenghua four character mark but later, of tapered, square section baluster form, the sides decorated with flowers, the neck with stiff leaves, 10 7/8in. (27.6cm.) high. * Y-shaped glaze crack to one side. Small chip to one corner of base. No other faults.

Lot 221

An unusual Royal Worcester two handled vase, late 19th century, unmarked, of urn form with delicate flora, foliate and shell sprays, the high angular handles with foliate and satyr mask terminals and blue glazed and gilt decoration, the neck and lower body with gilt bands of moulded foliage and floral latticework with shell and female mask mounts, on a blue glazed and gilt pedestal foot, 8in. (20.25cm.) high, base a/f. * Base has been off and has a glued repair running into the lower part of the main body. A few small flakes to glaze along these old breaks. Two tiny glaze chips to one handle. Small chip to cabochon on both shell mounts to body.

A modern Moorcroft Pottery twin handled vase in the 'Anna Lily' pattern, of slightly waisted form, 10¼in. (26cm.) high, painted marks to base, comes in original box.

A Chinese porcelain famille verte baluster vase and cover, converted to a lamp, the vase probably 19th century, enamelled with birds and flowers issuing from rockwork, on a dense ground of flowers and foliate with smaller, shaped reserves painted with birds, flowers, a dragon and a landscape, the domed cover similarly decorated, the flared base with painted fluted border, the vase 16in. (40.7cm.) high, the base and cover finial drilled.

A Chinese carved ivory figure of Guanyin, Qing Dynasty, with a small seated Buddha in her headdress holding an inverted vase in one hand and in the other, at her shoulder, a branch with leaves, signed to base, 18in. (47.5cm.) high. * Condition: Very good, with no faults. ** This lot is from a fine single owner collection of Chinese and Japanese ivories, which are included in this sale from lot 1495-1586. Please note that the collection will not be on view in our Guernsey saleroom - all of the lots will remain in Jersey throughout the period of viewing and the sale itself, due to the considerable costs involved in obtaining CITES licences for them to be moved between the islands. The collection was assembled by an enthusiastic and discerning collector who purchased from antiques dealers and auctions throughout the United Kingdom from 1938 to 1955. The collection has since passed down through family descent to the current owners, who are resident in Jersey in the Channel Islands. All of the lots in the collection are antique and over 100 years of age. All of these lots will be subject to international CITES regulations upon sale and will require licences to be issued by the States of Jersey for export from Jersey to other jurisdictions, the cost of which will be borne by the vendor. Please note that import licences for their ultimate destination willl be required prior to shipping - these will be the responsibility of the purchaser, as will any costs incurred, which vary internationally. Ivory cannot be exported to the USA. It will be the buyer's responsibility to check that their country of residence will permit import with the correct documentation before bidding. (31.8cm.) high, damage to rim. * Glued and filled repair to rim where a large piece has been off. Several associated cracks in same area. No other faults.

Lot 225

WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE - an extremely rare 3 5/8in. Malfrey pot and cover, first quarter 20th century, designed Daisy Makeig-Jones, decorated with Elves and Bell Branch pattern, depicting goblins and elves dancing on and around a mushroom, spider webs in the background against a midnight blue lustre glaze, the cover with a fairy to centre of spider web with gold gilded spider at one side with small fairies and leaves randomly scattered, the inner of lid with central large spider in web with scattered flies and flowers on light green lustre ground, underside with gold and black Portland vase mark and "Wedgwood England", also indistinct pattern no. (possibly Z208) - please see photo.* A very similar Malfrey pot and cover sold for $31,050.00 at Murphy Auctions in their Lamp & Glass sale in 2007, lot 395.** Very good / excellent condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines found, two tiny marks to gilt on fairy to centre of web on cover, some seepage from lustre bleeding into green glaze at base underside and inner pot, pattern number indistinct but visible.

An Edwardian silver epergne, Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd., London 1910, the main trumpet vase with pierced rim and glass liner, on an acorn mount issuing four foliate scroll arms holding smaller removable vases, to a stepped circular base with four bracket feet, 13 1/8in. (33.3cm.) high, weight 33.5 tr.oz.

Lot 2395

A pair of 19th century ruby cased glass and gilt metal vases, the trumpet vases with cut barbed rims and panel and comb cut decoration, supported on gilt metal urn bases with twin loose ring dragon handles, raised on an openwork quatreform base with masks and scrolled paw feet, 16¾in. (42.5cm.) high. (2) * Condition: Gilt wear. One floral mount missing from base of urn on each vase. No damage to glass.
