A rare Wedgwood Art Pottery vase by Norman Wilson, circa 1936, the hand thrown vase with ribbed detailing and decorated with a metallic dribbling brown glaze with aventurine speckling, resembling 'hare's fur', with turquoise glazed interior impressed WEDGWOOD, artist initials NW and letter H, 21cm. Norman Wilson joined Wedgwood in 1927 and became an important designer and chemist. His 'unique' pieces were the result of personal weekend experiments and were not sold through Wedgwood. A slightly smaller example was sold in The Harry Sheldon Collection at Phillips on October 14th 1998.
