A Chinese Famille Rose Pottery Oviform Vase with Cover, circa 19th century, Decorated with story panels, 32cm highCondition reportMinor age surface marks and staining to the pottery. Also one or two areas of minor age crazing. Minor chip to reverse or lid. Pictures to be up loaded to the saleroom shortly.
An 18th century continental silver vase / goblet, of flared form, with an applied strap suspended with three embossed diamond shaped drops, the base engraved 'NA.SD - AMD 1742', three rubbed hallmarks, 14cm CONDITION REPORT: No obvious signs of repairs. Hallmarks partially rubbed and difficult to decipher. Interior appears planished but clean. Exterior with expected surface wear and general blemishes but nothing hugely concerning. A large Continental '800' standard silver centrepiece, the vase of lobed waisted and tapering form, with moulded rims, stamped to the underside 'FATTO A MANO' '800', 35cm high, 53.6ozt CONDITION REPORT: 53.6ozt. Tarnished exterior bearing some light surface scuffs. Mid to late 20th century.
A Chinese archaistic bronze vase, hu, Chong Zhen four character seal mark, the large bronze vase extensively decorated with geometric yun wen strap work enclosing four reserves to either side depicting Baku, fish and other mythical creatures amidst waves, featuring Shou medallions and zoomorphic lugs flanking the neck with relief decoration depicting dragons chasing flaming pearls, the underside bearing Chongzhen four character seal mark, 37cm high CONDITION REPORT: The overall decoration appears in rather good condition. No obvious signs of restoration, concerning cracks or splits. Foot rim showing some dents and nicks. Seal mark appears tight. General blemishes, grubbiness and light surface wear. Interior unpolished and dirty.
A Chinese porcelain Ming style Meiping vase, the blue and white high shouldered vase decorated in the 15th century style of blue and white depicting figures and pagoda within stiff leaf and geometric borders, 25cm high CONDITION REPORT: This is not a period Ming Dynasty piece. The porcelain body appears rather muted. No obvious chips, cracks or restoration. Some pitting to the rims and body. General surface scratches. See additional images for clarification.
A Chinese cast bronze censer, of compressed circular form raised on a tripod vase with a plain polished exterior, character marks to underside, 17cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: Unpolished rough interior. No splits or cracks. Edges of each foot show some light wear. Overall appearance is rather good. Some general surfaces scratches and blemishes.
A Chinese bronze vase, Hu, decorated in relief to the exterior with two phoenix's, the cylindrical neck flanked by two zoomorphic lugs, apocryphal six character Yongle style six character mark, 11cm high CONDITION REPORT: Interior rather grubby, unpolished and showing commensurate wear. Foot rim shows some nicks and dents. Interior with some surface scratches, general blemishes and minor dents. However, the overall appearance is good and no obviously apparent cracks or signs of restoration are visible.
A collection of Japanese cloisonne items, c1900 and later, to include a pair of vases decorated with shaped panels of flowers and geometric motifs, 10.5cm high, a similar dish, 12cm diam, a pair of squat vases, a chamber stick, an ovoid vases decorated with an iris against a brick red ground (bruised), 15.5cm, and a Chinese butterfly shaped dish (12) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: Slender Iris vase against a red ground - Two cracked/chipped sections the back of the vase. x1 baluster vase with dented rim. Signs of wear and surface scratches throughout.
A pair of Chinese blue and white ginger jars and covers, decorated with prunus, 20cm high, with a smaller ginger jar and cover, a pair of Japanese Satsuma vases, a smaller pair (one damaged), a crackle glaze bowl and an Imari pallet bowl (9) CONDITION REPORT: Imari bowl - large rim descending stained hairline crack. One of the smaller pair of Satsuma vase with re-glued rim. Larger pair extensively crazed. Each ginger jar bearing double concentric blue marks to underside. Ginger jars appear in generally good condition with no obvious signs of restoration, cracks or concerning chips. Each slightly pitted and with grubby interiors.
